I am a dinosaur and unashamed to admit I started my reading life with Enid Blyton's Famous Five and Secret Seven novels as a child. My first serious stuff was Mark Twain, Sapper,
G.K.Chesterton,Ryder Haggard, Edgar Rice Burroughs and others of that era. I've probably read every classic adventure ever written, of which Ivanhoe and Last of the Mohicans are evergreen favourites. I play with writing and have written about a dozen short stories here on Dwiggie. I paint watercolours, read a lot still and watch movies of most types, horror and science fiction excluded. In my time I have done most things and played most sports. I have three children and three step children, five over here and one in California Only two girls have ever read Jane Austen. I have a nine-year-old Shit-hzu named Alfie who rules our house.

Author of:

Stranger than Fiction Written by Jim G.M. Dot Mr Collins, tired of his role being downplayed in the events of the Darcy/Bennet affair, decides to reveal the truth of it all. His revelations are somewhat different than we were led to believe. ~P&P~ Last update 05/24/2015 (Epi)

I Charles Bingley Written by Jim G.M. Dot Rumour and statement without proof or foundation is unworthy of consideration or judgement. To make decisions based on such is folly and unworthy. Only truth can combat what are effectively no more than lies. ~P&P~ Last update 05/24/2015 (Epi)

Pride, Prejudice and Sherlock Holmes Written by Jim G.M. Dot A close inspection of Jane Austen's classic, by fiction's greatest detective, the veritable Sherlock Holmes. Be prepared to be astounded as the tale unfolds. Elementary, my dear Austen! ~P&P~ Last update 08/30/2015 (Fant)

Hunsford Tales Written by Jim G.M. A collection of tales involving Hunsford Parsonage. ~P&P~ Last update 05/24/2015 (Epi)

Persuading Sherlock Holmes Written by Jim G.M. Dot Sherlock Holmes becomes intrigued with the smells of ozone and the cries of seagulls as he tries to unlock Jane Austen's reasons for writing Persuasion, and also unravel a mystery of an Elliot family member living in Lyme Regis in 1902. ~Per~ Last update 11/21/2015 (Fant)

Fearless, but never feckless Written by Jim G.M. Dot The truth of a story can only be judged in the hearing of it. In keeping with many of the citizens of Meryton, gossip and rumour sometimes over-rule sense. ~P&P~ Last update 11/21/2015 (Epi)

A Study not in Scarlet Written by Jim G.M. Dot Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson analyse Jane Austen's Heroes and Heroines. They adopt some slightly conflicting views, possibly contrary to public opinion. The somewhat hard-headed and, in his view, realistic views of Watson, and the often taciturn intelligent and logical mind of a master detective who eliminates the unlikely in favour of facts. ~S&S~ ~P&P~ ~Em~ ~Per~ Last update 11/21/2015 (Fant)

They must have heard about Mary Written by Jim G.M. Dot What if? Is an oft used alternative scenario in tale-telling. So then, what if we made a gracious nod in Jane Austen's direction and promised to follow her guidelines, but turned a few things on their heads in her Regency era comedy of manners, amidst the rattle of carriage wheels down in Meryton in the mud, can we hope she will be gracious and forgive us? ~P&P~ Last update 11/21/2015 (Epi)

Darcy's Good Turn Written by Jim G.M. Dot A holiday poem. ~P&P~ Last update 12/19/2015 (Epi)

Painting the Clouds with Sunshine Written by Jim G.M. Dot An idea is inspirational. An idea that involves Lady Catherine De Bourgh in the mind of Mr Collins is earth-shattering. ~P&P~ Last update 05/29/2016 (Epi)

In the beginning Written by Jim G.M. Dot Bingley's the name; Charles Bingley. A possible explanation to a question that must be asked, indeed has probably been many times. ~P&P~ Last update 05/29/2016 (Epi)
