    Chapter 1

Posted on Saturday, 26 June 1999

It has always been a tradition at Meryton High that the star quarterback/captain of the football team and the head cheerleader date. It has been that way since Mrs. Bennet went there.

Of course, at the time Monica Gardiner was a pretty and a little empty headed but that didn't matter to Thomas Bennet. It was after all tradition. And 2 years after high school they were married.

And twenty years later it was the same for their eldest daughter, Jamie Bennet. However, Jamie and the quarterback, Charlie Bingley were so much dating by that time it really didn't matter.

However, in two years time when their second daughter was a senior and head cheerleader, she had an absolute hatred of the star quarterback.

'I don't care what the tradition says mother. I will not date William Darcy, he is an arrogant conceited jerk.' Liz Bennet yelled.

'It is a tradition Miss Lizzy and you will have to stick with it. I did and so did your sister Jamie.' Monica Bennet yelled.

'Yeah but Jamie likes Charlie and they were dating before they became star quarterback and head cheerleader, so they really don't count.' And with that Liz walked outside, heading for school.

After picking up her best friend and fellow cheerleader, Sherry Lucas, they headed towards Meryton High. Home of the Fighting Jaguars.

'I can't believe it Sherry, she actually expects me to date William Darcy. Ugh please I would rather date Billy Collins.'

'Come on Liz, you knew this was going to happen.' Sherry said, knowing how her best friend hated William.

'Yeah, but it still is a stupid tradition. And besides I really wanted to be head cheerleader, there was no way in hell that I was going to let Carol Bingley be it. I would not have stayed on the squad if she were to become head cheerleader.'

'I know. It was funny when they named you head cheerleader instead of her. She was expecting it to be her.' Sherry said with a laugh.

'Actually I think the only reason that she wanted it is so that she could have a chance with Mr. High and Mighty Darcy. Well if she wants him, she can gladly have him.' Liz said with a laugh as they pulled into the parking lot.

'So Liz, what are we doing in British Lit class today?'

'Don't know, we are starting a new novel today.'

As they were arrived at their lockers, other cheerleaders met them. They all chatted about practice and the up coming year, when the bell ringed.

'Class! Ok class, settle down.' Miss Marianne Dashwood said. 'Today we are going to start a wonderful classic by Jane Austen. It is called Pride and Prejudice.'

A lot of groans went up from the class.

'Now, now, class that is enough. Pride and Prejudice is the story of the lively and rebellious Elizabeth Bennet.' She paused on this while everyone giggled and looked at Liz. 'She is one of five unmarried daughters living in the countryside of 19th century England. In a world where obtaining an advantageous marriage is a women's sole occupation. Elizabeth's independent manner threatens her family's future. Will her romantic sparring with the mysterious and arrogant Fitzwilliam Darcy end in misfortune - or will love's true nature prevail? Now that is the description from the back of the movie box. It is much more complex than that however, the gist of it is correct.' Miss Dashwood finished.

Liz just gasped, she knew that her name was in the book, but never like this. As for everyone else they laughed and snickered, because everyone knew of the sparring of the star quarterback and the head cheerleader.

'Ok that is enough. Shall we begin? Today we are going to read the first three chapters out loud and for homework I would like you all to read the next three. Now Miss Bennet, shall we begin?'

'Um sure Miss Dashwood.' And with that Liz started to read and continued to read till the end of class.

    Chapter 2

'Can you believe it Sherry? The similarities of that book, I mean I have an older sister and three younger sisters.' Liz said at lunch. 'I mean Jamie-Jane, Elizabeth-Elizabeth, Mary-Mary, Katherine called Kati-Catherine called Kitty, Lindsey-Lydia. Were my parents' nuts?'

    'I don't know Liz.'

'Well I tell you what it's creepy, Jamie is dating Charlie Bingley, who has a best friend, which I hate, named William Darcy. He also has a sister named Carol, who likes Darcy and hates me.'

'Yeah, and don't forget that William also has a sister named Georgie. And what about me and Mariah, talk about freaky.' Sherry agreed.

'Actually it is freaky,' William Darcy said walking by.

'Yeah well, who asked you Mr. Darcy?' Liz said with anger in her voice.

'No one Miss Bennet, I just think it is going to be an interesting class the next couple of weeks.'

'Oh yeah and why is that?'

'Just because, we will be able to see the how similar these characters are compared to us. Well see you both next hour.' And with that he walked off towards class.

'Oh the nerve of him. He is just like the Mr. Darcy in the book, proud and arrogant. I can't believe that people actually expect us to date.' Liz said with a frustrated sigh.

'Yeah well there's the bell, we better get to Calculus Liz.' Sherry said standing up, gathering her books. 'You know how Mr. Smith is when we are late.'

The rest of the day went smoothly enough; it wasn't until the end of football/cheerleading practice that it got interesting.

'So Darcy, when are you and Liz Bennet going to go out?' Rick Fitzwilliam said with a grin.

'Ha! Ha! Very funny Rick.' William said laughing at his cousin.

'Oh come on man, you know you like her.'

'Yeah I do like Liz. But stupid me, I had to insult her the first day of practice and it has been coldness and attitude ever since. I mean I was and still am new here and I meet the most interesting girl and I have the gall to insult her cheerleading abilities.'

'Yeah, that was not very smart William.' Rick said laughing at the memory of it.

After Charles graduated two years ago, the next year's quarterback, Frank Churchill, didn't last but a year. So at the beginning of the season, William Darcy and his cousin transferred from Kent High. Both were excellent players, and William one of the best quarterbacks in the district. Meryton got pretty lucky to have him as their quarterback, especially after last season's disgrace.

'I know Rick, I know! You can stop saying that, and about me and her dating, I don't think that is going to happen. This year the star quarterback and head cheerleader are not going to date, and why? Because I had to insult her.' William said walking off the field.

As he was, he turned and saw Liz still practicing.

'Wow! She is beautiful.' He said to himself, watching her practice. William stood there for a bit never taking his eyes of the head cheerleader.

When practice was over, Liz and Sherry were joking about something when Liz noticed William staring at her.

'Who does he think he is?'

    'He who Liz?' Sherry asked.

'William Darcy, that's who. He is just standing there watching me.' Liz said very annoyed and looking directly at him.

'Hey Eliza! Who are you staring at?' Carol said yelling towards her.

'No one Carol, absolutely no one at all.' Liz answered.

'No one huh, for a minute there I thought you were staring at William Darcy.' Carol said with a hint of jealously in her voice.

'Why would I be staring at Mr. High and Mighty Darcy. He is nothing more than an arrogant snob.' Liz replied loudly.

'Come on Lizzy, you know the tradition for the head cheerleader-you and the star quarterback-William to date.' Lindsey said joining them.

'It's only a tradition, which doesn't mean it's a rule. And I for one am not going to follow it.' Liz replied to one of her younger sisters. Lindsey and Kati are twins at 15 and starting their freshman year of high school. As well as their first year of cheerleading for Meryton High. Also, as in the book they are both silly and empty headed and think of nothing but cheering and dating football players.

Mary, the middle child at 161/2 and a junior, didn't like cheerleading and she was the only Bennet that didn't cheer. So, you could say it was very similar to Pride and Prejudice.

'You don't want to break tradition, do you Lizzy?' Kati piped in.

'I don't care!' she yelled. 'I am not going out with William Darcy and that is final.' Liz said heading towards the locker rooms.

'Nothing's final Liz, you should know that.' William said standing near the doors.

'And who asked you Mr. Darcy?' Liz replied trying to walk past him.

'I couldn't help but overhear you. So you are so fixed on not going with me huh?'

'That's right buddy.' Liz said glaring at him.

    'And may I ask why?'

'Because you are an arrogant conceited jerk and I don't like you all that much.'

'So you are going to follow the book I see.'

'And what book is that?' Liz said sarcastically.

'Pride and Prejudice of course. Because Elizabeth heard Darcy say those awful remarks, she held it against him and didn't give him a chance.'

'That's right. Now if you will excuse me Mr. Darcy, I have to go. I still got to change, take my younger sisters home, and start my homework.' Liz said pushing him out of her way.

'Fine. C-ya around Liz.' William said walking away with a grin on his face. That went wonderfully. Her eyes, though, definitely light up when she is angry. William thought while leaving for his car.

    Chapter 3

'Hi Jamie, how were your classes today?' Liz asked her older sister. Jamie Bennet attended Pemberley University since it was only 20 miles from Meryton.

'Fine Liz, how was practice?' Jamie said.

'Oh great! In British Lit class we started to read Pride and Prejudice.' Liz said siting on her sister's bed.

'Pride and Prejudice huh? Notice any similarities?'

    'You've read it haven't you?'

'No Liz! Well not all of it, I am in the middle. I have to read it for ENC1102.' Jamie said picking up the book.

'Yeah well I got to read it in class and so does William Darcy.'

'Oh him again. What did Will do today?' Jamie was all too aware of the conflicts between her boyfriend's best friend and her sister.

'Nothing much, he made me think about something though.'

    'And what is that Liz?'

'Well in the book Mr. Darcy says those remarks about her.'

    'Right'

'And then he starts to admire and stare at her right?'

'Yeah. Where is this going little sister?' Jamie asked.

'I wonder. In the book Elizabeth never gave him a chance. She already judged him based on those comments. Well I am wondering if that is what I am doing with William.'

    'And that bothers you?'

'Yes. I mean he is cute and smart. He just isn't like one of those empty headed jocks that are constantly asking me out. I wonder if I misjudged him that's all.' Liz said getting off the bed and heading for the door.

    'Where are you going?'

'To call him because I am having trouble with my Calc homework. Maybe he could help me.'

'Well just be nice and don't jump down his throat.'

    'I won't thanks Jamie.'

'Anytime sis anytime.' Jamie said grinning. Jamie has after all read up to just after the first proposal. If they are anything like Darcy and Elizabeth in the book, I hope that they see through these first few mistakes and realize that they could maybe like each other.

Liz went back to her room and called William.

    'Hello,' answered a female voice.

    'Georgie? Hi its Liz Bennet.'

'Hi Liz, how are you?' Georgie said.

'I'm fine. Hey could I talk to your brother please?'

'Um sure, hang on a sec.' Georgie said, going to find her brother.

'Hey Will, Liz is on the phone.' Georgie said handing him the phone.

    'Really? Thanks Georgie...Hello Liz?'

    'Hi William.'

'So whats up? Is something wrong?'

'No well yes. I am having trouble with my Calc homework and I was wondering if you could help me with it.'

'Um sure, but what about your sister or Sherry.'

'Sherry's not home and Jamie hasn't had Calc in over 2 years.' Liz answered a little testy.

'Oh sorry. Well do you want to come over, or we could meet somewhere?'

'I guess I could come over. If that is ok with your parents?'

'Hang on a sec, I will find out.' There was a pause and a moment later. 'Yeah, they say that it is ok. So when do you want to come over?'

    'How about 10 minutes?'

'Ok, well here is the address...'William said telling her how to get there.

'Ok I got it, see you in a few. And William?'

    'Yeah Liz.'

'Thanks.' Liz said hanging up the phone.

Liz grabbed her books and went down stairs to tell her dad where she was going. 'Hey dad I am going over to a friends house to do some homework.'

'Ok honey, I won't tell your mom where you are going.' Mr. Bennet said with a smirk.

    'What does that mean Daddy?'

'It means that you are going over to William Darcys house.'

    'How did you know?'

'I know you to well my love.'

'Yeah, ok bye Daddy. I love you and thanks.'

'Bye my Lizzy.' Mr. Bennet said kissing his daughter on the cheek.

    Chapter 4

Posted on Thursday, 15 July 1999

Liz pulled up to the house and knocked on the front door.

'Hi Liz! How are you? Come in.' Georgie Darcy said. Georgie was 16 and a sophomore at Meryton. She has been a cheerleader for now 2 years; she was also a friend to Liz.

'Hey Georgie! I'm fine, where's William?' Liz replied. Liz like Georgie, she was different from her brother.

'He's in the study, this way.' Georgie said showing her the way and then left.

'Hey Liz! I see you found the house.' William said placing the book down.

'Hi William, what are you reading?'

    'Pride and Prejudice.'

'Oh, well can we start with this calc homework.'

'Sure Liz. You mean you are actually doing homework on a Friday night?'

'Yes I am. I want to get most of it done for the weekend and besides we have so many other things to do on the weekend. With cheerleading and football, I mean.' Liz replied sitting down with a slight blush on her face.

'Yea sure, well lets get started.' William said and with that they started their homework.

About 2 hours later, Liz and William decided that was enough and to call it quits.

'Hey Liz, come and meet my parents.'

'Sure but then I have to get home.' Liz followed William into the family room.

'Mom, Dad, this is Liz Bennet; Liz this is my father, George, and my mother, Annie.'

'Hello Mr. and Mrs. Darcy, please to meet you both.'

'Like wise Liz.' Mrs. Darcy replied.

'Well if you will excuse me I better be going home.'

'Um Liz, I don't think that would be wise.' Georgie said.

    'And why is that Georgie?'

'Look out the window my dear. There is a bad storm approaching and the weather station just issued a tornado warning for the county. I don't think it would be wise for you to be driving.' Mrs. Darcy replied.

Liz walked over to the window and saw the storm coming. 'But, I really should leave and try to make it home.'

'Nonsense my dear, please call your parents and let them know where you are.' Mr. Darcy said handing Liz the phone. Liz dialed her number and her father picked up.

    'Hello?'

    'Hi dad, it's me.'

'Liz honey, I was getting worried where are you?' Thomas replied in a concern tone.

'I am still at William Darcys.'

'Oh I see. Well I think it would be best if you stay there.'

'Dad! I really want to come home.' Liz replied a little angry.

'Liz that's crazy. It is getting worse outside.' Thomas said firmly. 'Honey I don't want anything happening to you, let me talk to Mr. Darcy.'

'Ok, Mr. Darcy my father wants to talk to you.' Liz said handing him the phone.

They talked for a few minutes. 'Yes sure Mr. Bennet. No problem. No that's fine. Your welcome. Here's your daughter.' Mr. Darcy said handing Liz the phone.

'Liz, Mr. Darcy offered to let you stay the night and I agree with him.'

'Yeah ok dad. I understand, I love you, bye.'

    'Love you too Liz. Bye.'

Liz hanged up the phone and handed the phone back.

'Thank you Mr. Darcy, you are most kind.'

'No problem. Happy to help a pretty lady like yourself.' Mr. Darcy said with a smile.

    'Thank you.'

'Now my dear let me show you to the guest room and where you can place your things.' Mrs. Darcy said motioning for her to follow.

'Sure, thank you again Mrs. Darcy.' Liz said walking out with her.

'No problem.' Mrs. Darcy replied showing Liz the guestroom and the bathroom. The guestroom was also coincidentally next to William's room.

When Mrs. Darcy and Liz rejoined everyone, they all decided to watch a movie. Liz sat down next to Georgie, who was in the middle of her and William. They were about half way into the movie when the power went off.

'Oh dear! George where are the flashlights and candles?' Mrs. Darcy said getting up.

'Not sure my dear, probably in the kitchen, here let me help you.'

'Hang on I will go as well.' Georgie said getting up as well.

'I'm going too.' Liz said standing up only to be started by a loud clap of thunder.

'Liz? Are you all right?' Williams's deep voice said very close to her.

'Yes William I am fine. Just startled me that's all.' Liz was about to try and head off in the direction that the light was coming from, when she bumped into something. Actually it was someone.

    Chapter 5

Posted on Saturday, 17 July 1999

'Ops! Sorry!' Liz said, not sure who it was.

'No problem Liz.' William's surprised voice answered.

'I can't see a thing.' Liz replied to the shadow in front of her.

'Yeah. I think my parents and Georgie found the candles. Turn around and I will guide you to the kitchen.' William said placing his hands on her shoulders.

'Sure, no problem.' Liz replied, not minding William's hands on her shoulders.

As William was guiding Liz she started to stumble and William grabbed her around the waist to steady her.

'Thank you.' Liz said, 'I think it would be better if you lead and I follow you.'

'Yea sure, I will walk ahead of you and you hang on to my arm.'

'Sure let's go.' Liz said wrapping her arm around his.

As they were walking Liz started to laugh as she heard William bumped into something.

'Talk about the blind leading the blind.'

'Yeah and this is my house.' William said chuckling.

'Will! Liz! Where are you guys?' Georgie yelled.

'Shh! Liz let's scare her.' William said quietly.

    'What?'

    'Come on.'

'Well ok.' Liz said as William guided her to a different spot.

'Will! Liz!' Georgie yelled as the light came closer.

    'One...two...three...BOOOO!' William yelled.

'AHHH! William Darcy! You scared the crap out of me, I am going to kill you.' Georgie yelled.

Liz started to laugh, but was silenced when William backed into her and they both fell on the floor.

'Will? Liz? Are you guys ok?'

'Yeah I'm fine.' William answered. 'Are you ok Liz?'

'I will be fine if you move.' Liz said.

    'Oh sorry.' William said moving.

'Hey Liz, while you are down there. Can you please help me with something?'

    'Sure Georgie what's that?'

'Help me with my revenge on this jerk. Tickle him.'

'What? NO! Georgie don't!' William said trying to get up.

'Hurry Liz! Will is extremely ticklish.' Georgie said.

'Oh really.' Liz said with a grin. And with that she too started to tickle the now helpless William.

'No! No! Please don't Liz. Please I beg you.' William said in between laughs.

'No way. You asked for it Mr. Darcy.' Liz answered tickling him harder.

'All right fine.' And with that William grabbed Liz and Georgie and started to tickle them.

'No! No! Stop William! Stop!' Georgie yelled.

'Yeah come on, we are sorry.' Liz said laughing hard as she was trying to get away.

'What is going on in here?' Mr. Darcy said with a flashlight in hand.

'Nothing, just a little payback dad.' William said grinning.

'Payback huh? What did they do start tickling you?' Mr. Darcy said with a grin.

'We sure did Daddy. But that was after Will scared me to death.' Georgie said standing up.

'Oh so that explains the scream. Well come on you three, Annie is waiting for us in the kitchen.' Mr. Darcy said leaving a flashlight with William and leading Georgie to the kitchen.

'Coming Dad.' William said standing up and picking Liz up too.

    'Thank you.'

'You're welcome.' William said grinning at her.

'Look Liz. I am sorry about what I said the first week of practice. I didn't mean it. It was just that with a new school and new people, I was a little shy. I never meant to offend you.'

'That's ok. I just wish you would have came out and said that sooner.' Liz said looking at him.

'Yeah well, I am sorry. I guess I was too proud to admit that I was wrong.' William said looking at the floor.

'Ok I accept your apology. And I am sorry for treating you so badly. I guess I was being very prejudice.' Liz said.

'Apology accepted. To bad Elizabeth and Darcy didn't try this from the beginning. They wouldn't have to have gone through a whole book of misunderstandings.' William said remembering the book.

'Yeah well come on we better join your family.' Liz said.

'Ok sure.' William said, showing Liz which way to go. But first he grabbed her arm and said, 'Friends?'

'Friends.' Liz said taking his hand.

'Ok, then do me a favor and call me Will.'

    'Sure Will.'

    Chapter 6

Posted on Sunday, 18 July 1999

When William and Liz rejoined the others in the kitchen, Mr. and Mrs. Darcy were sitting at the counter talking about something.

'Oh hey you two.' Georgie said. 'Did you two get lost again?'

'No Georgie. We were waiting for you to come and find us again.' William said with a grin.

'Well you would have been waiting for a long time.' Georgie replied hitting her brother on the arm.

'Liz? Are you ok?' Mrs. Darcy asked looking at Liz.

'Yes I am fine. I was just thinking about my family. I hope they are fine.' Liz replied.

'They will be fine Liz don't worry.' Mrs. Darcy said reassuringly.

    'Thank you Mrs. Darcy.'

'No problem, well I am tired. I am going to head upstairs, are you coming with me George?'

'Yes. Goodnight kids and try to behave. Good night Liz, pleasure to meet you.' Mr. Darcy said wrapping his arm around his wife and heading out.

'Goodnight Mom and Dad.' William and Georgie said together.

'Goodnight Mr. and Mrs. Darcy and thank you again.'

'No problem. I left some cloths on the bed that you can use Liz.' Mrs. Darcy replied.

'Oh, thank you.' Liz called as they were disappearing into the darkness.

'So, what do you guys want to do? Georgie said after her parents left.

    'I don't know.'

'I know, when I was a kid and this would happen my sisters and me would go onto our porch and tell stories while watching the storm.' Liz suggested.

'That sounds neat but no. This storm is bad to go out on our patio.' Georgie said looking out the window.

'Oh. Well then I don't know.' Liz replied sadly.

'We could play cards or a board game.' William suggested.

'No. I think I am going up to my room. I am a little tired. Goodnight Will. Goodnight Liz.' Georgie said grabbing her candle and leaving.

'Goodnight Georgie.' William and Liz said.

'Well?' William said looking at Liz.

'I know, maybe we could read some Pride and Prejudice.'

'Sure Liz, let me go get my book.' William said about to leave.

'Why don't we just go into the study. We could sit in there and read.' Liz said walking over to him.

'Ok let's go.' William said leading the way.

When they got into the study, they both sat down on the couch.

'How about you read William?' Liz said.

'Why not you? And my name is Will.'

'I know it is just that I like William and I have already read out loud in class earlier today, so it's your turn.'

'Ok. I really don't like being called William; most everyone calls me Will. However in your case I think I will make an acceptation.' William said smiling at her. He then picked up the book and began reading.

About an hour later, after getting through chapter 10, William placed the book down and just looked at Liz. 'Well do you notice any similarities?'

'Yeah I do William. Talk about weird, except we aren't mad at each other anymore. At least I hope that we are not.' Liz said smiling at him.

'No we are not. I am glad that storm came.'

    'Yeah me too.'

William and Liz just sat there looking at each other, when William thought of something. 'Hey um Liz. You know that homecoming is coming up?'

    'Yeah.'

'Well I was wondering if maybe that you would um like to go with me. Just friends, not like a date or anything.'

'Oh! I see! Is that where this is heading, all the kindness is just a way to keep that stupid tradition correct. Right?' Liz replied angrily.

'What stupid tradition?' William replied. Wondering what did he say?

'Don't play dumb William. The one which the star quarterback and head cheerleader date.'

'What? No Liz that has nothing to do with this. I just want to go with you. I would want to go with you even if you weren't head cheerleader.' William replied honestly.

'Oh I see. Let me guess you have started to admire me, just like Mr. Darcy in the book.' Liz replied standing up and walking around the room.

'Well yes. You are different from all the other girls I have known. You are smart, pretty, funny, and you do have the most beautiful expressive eyes I have ever seen.' William said looking at her.

'Ugh! I have heard enough! I am going to bed Mr. Darcy, please excuse me.' Liz replied grabbing her candle and storming out of the den, into the dark hallway.

'I am sorry Liz.' William whispered as he watched her leave.

    Chapter 7

Posted on Wednesday, 21 July 1999

Liz walked up to her room and just sat in their thinking. What just happen? I mean everything was going fine then I had to go and get all paranoid. He actually likes me and well maybe...yes I like him too. Oh what did I do?

Just then she heard William walk past her room and into his room.

Well if I am going to apologize I better do it now.

Liz went to William's door, it was open and she knocked on the frame. 'William it's Liz. May I come in? William are you there?'

Liz didn't see or hear anything, she thought that maybe she was wrong and it wasn't William. She turned around and was heading back to her room, when she heard William's voice.

'Hey Liz, come on in.' William said standing in the hallway gesturing for her to go in. Liz walked in and William shut the door behind him.

'Look William, I am sorry. I had no reason to jump down your throat like that. It's just I hate that tradition, my mother reminds me of it daily.'

'Yeah I know. The guys do it to me as well.' William said looking at her.

'William do you want to go to homecoming with me?' Liz asked quietly.

    'Just friends?'

'No. I mean like a date.' Liz replied looking at him.

'Yes, I would love to go with you Liz.' William replied smiling. 'Um, Liz are you busy tomorrow night?'

    'No why?'

'Would you like to go and see a movie?'

    'Sure, I would love to.'

'Great.' William said smiling and moving a little closer to her.

'Well I am going to bed now. Goodnight.' Liz said walking back over to the door. However, the door wouldn't open. 'Hey! What is wrong with your door?'

'Oh no! I forgot!' William exclaimed.

    'Forgot about what?'

'My door it sticks, this always happens when there is a storm. That is why I didn't close it the first time, when I entered.' William said sheepishly.

The Darcys house is one of the older houses in the county, so having doors that stick wasn't too uncommon. However, it was just the wrong time for these two.

'What! Oh dear now what?' Liz replied.

'I am not sure, usually when this happens my dad has to open it from the outside. It is usually the only way to get the door open. Of course he is asleep, so there went that idea.' William said sadly.

'Oh, well then I guess we are suck in here together.' Liz said sitting down in a chair.

'Yeah well luckily there is a bathroom connected to my room. But as for sleeping, you can have my bed and I will sleep on the floor.'

'Thank you but my cloths.' Liz said.

'Here you can use one of my shirts.' William said walking over to his dresser and pulling out one of his t-shirts.

'Thank you, well I will go and change.' Liz said walking into the bathroom.

Moments later when she returned, she noticed that William changed too. 'Well good night Liz, sorry about this.'

    'That's fine. Hey William...'

    'Yeah.'

'That floor can't be comfortable, this is a big enough bed for us to share. I promise not to bit.'

'Well I don't know. When my parents come in and well...'William trailed off.

'From what I can tell they are reasonable people. When we explain what happen, there is nothing wrong with it and they will understand.' Liz said looking at him.

'Ok, if you do not mind?'

'If I would I wouldn't have suggested it would I?'

'No. I guess not,' William said walking to the opposite side of the bed and lying down.

'There better? Goodnight William.' Liz said rolling on her side, so that her back was facing William.

'Yes better and goodnight Liz. Pleasant dreams.' William said falling asleep.

    Chapter 8

Posted on Thursday, 22 July 1999

'Will! Wake up!' Mr. Darcy called.

'What? Oh morning Dad.' William said getting up and looking at his father.

'Do you know where Liz is?' Mrs. Darcy said.

'Yes, she is right there.' William said pointing to the empty side of the bed. 'Well she was there. Liz?'

'I am right here.' Liz said coming out of the bathroom.

'Liz, why are you in Will's room?' Mr. Darcy asked.

'Well Liz came in last night to ask me something about school and when she was leaving we discovered that the door was stuck again with both Liz and me inside.' William answered for Liz.

'Ok, it is just that when we went into Liz's room and she was not in there. Well we got worried.'

'I am sorry for that Mrs. Darcy, I didn't mean to scare you both.'

'That is ok Liz, but honey, where are your cloths?' Mrs. Darcy said.

'They are in the bathroom. William let me borrow one of his t-shirts.' Liz said blushing.

'Ok how about I get your cloths washed and you both come downstairs and eat some breakfast.' Mrs. Darcy said walking out with Mr. Darcy.

    'Sure Mom.'

    'Thanks Mrs. Darcy.'

'See I told you no problem. I wonder if Georgie is up yet.' Liz said grinning at him.

'Probably not, she is a late sleeper on the weekends.' William replied as they were walking downstairs.

'Oh, like brother like sister.' Liz said laughing.

    'And what does that mean.'

'That you were sound asleep when I awoke, I just guess that you are a late sleeper too.'

'Yeah I am, especially on the weekends.' William said laughing with her as they approached the kitchen.

After eating and getting dressed, Liz tried to call home to check on her family. 'Oh no! The phones are still out.' Liz said sadly.

'Don't worry Liz they are fine.' Mrs. Darcy said. Mr. Darcy already went into his study to read his paper.

'Thanks, maybe I should try and go home. I need to see with my own eyes that everything is fine.'

'Sure.' William said. 'Maybe I could go over with you, just in case.'

'Thanks William.' Liz said looking at him.

'Then how will you get home.' Mrs. Darcy said looking at her son.

'Well if everything is fine at Liz's house, then well, I guess we should go and see if practice is still on.'

'Yeah, I got cheerleading at noon.' Liz replied looking at her watch.

    'And I have football practice.'

'Well ok. Then are you two doing something after practice.' Mrs. Darcy said smiling at them both.

'Yeah maybe. We are planning on going to the movies tonight.' William said. 'Hey if I am going with you, I guess that I better go and get Georgie up so she can come too.'

'I will do that.' Mrs. Darcy said.

'No need to Mom. I am up.' Georgie said walking into the kitchen.

'Morning Georgie.' Liz and William said.

'Morning. So where are you guys going?'

'Well first we are going to Liz's house, then to the school and see if practice is still on. I doubt it, but we better check.'

'Ok let me eat, then we can go.'

    'Ok,' Liz said.

'I am going outside to look around. Do you want to go Liz?'

    'Sure.'

'Come out when you are done Georgie? Bye Mom.'

'Bye sweetie. Bye Liz.' Mrs. Darcy said.

'Bye Mrs. Darcy and thank you.'

    'No problem.'

Liz and William walked out and looked around. It wasn't that bad out just a lot of fallen branches and debris.

'Hmm, not bad at all.' William said.

'Yeah, I guess the storm wasn't all that bad.'

    'No guess not.'

Liz walked away and was very quiet.

    'What's wrong?'

    'Nothing.'

'Yes there is. What is it?' William said.

'I was just thinking about what everyone is going to say.' Liz said looking at the sky.

'Oh about you staying here for the night.' William said walking over to her.

'That and when they find out that we are going out tonight.'

    'Why? Does that bother you?'

'I don't know. No it doesn't, I mean what is wrong with two people going to the movies, right?'

'Right.' William said moving closer. 'And I don't care what they say. All I know is that I am going out with a very pretty girl.'

    'Thank you.' Liz said blushing.

William moved closer and placed his arms around her and bent down...

    Chapter 9

Posted on Thursday, 29 July 1999

'Liz? Will? Where are you guys?' Georgie called.

Liz jumped back looked at William and yelled, 'we are coming Georgie.'

'Sorry Liz. I didn't...I mean I am sorry.'

'That's ok William, I am only sorry that Georgie came out when she did.' Liz said smiling at him.

William just smiled and they both headed back over to where the car and Georgie were.

    'Where were you two?'

'We were just checking around the house for any damage.' William answered.

'Yeah, shall we go?' Liz answered getting into the car.

    'Sure let's go.' Georgie answered.

On the drive over, Georgie asked 'so Liz who are you going to Homecoming with?'

    'William.'

'Oh really? You mean you know another guy named William.'

'No little sister. She means me.' William said turning around to look at her.

'Duh! In know that, I was just making sure.' Georgie said laughing at her brother.

'Well what about you Georgie?' Liz asked.

'Don't know yet. Anyway, Liz do you want to go shopping sometime for dresses?'

    'Sure I would love to.'

The rest of the drive was quiet and finally they pulled into Liz's driveway.

'Um maybe I should go in first. I will be right back.' Liz said getting out.

    'Ok' answered William and Georgie.

    'Hello? Anybody home?'

'Liz? Hi honey, are you ok?' Thomas said walking out of the living room and hugging his favorite daughter.

'Yea dad I am fine. Where is everyone?'

'Well you mom, Kati, and Lindsey got stuck at your aunt's house. Mary was at a friend's house, and Jamie was here with Charlie. They just left about 10 minutes ago to go and check on his family.'

'So that means mom doesn't know that I stayed at Williams?' Liz asked smiling.

    'Nope.' Thomas said smiling back.

'Thanks dad.' Liz said hugging him again. 'Hey wait and I will go outside and get William and Georgie so that you can meet them.'

'Ok, I will be in the living room.' Thomas said hugging his daughter one more time.

Liz walked back in a minute later with William and Georgie. 'Dad this is William and his sister Georgie. Guys this is my father, Thomas.'

'Please to meet you Mr. Bennet.' Georgie said shaking his hand.

'Please to meet you Georgie and you William. I have seen you at practice, you are really good.'

'Thank you. I heard plenty about you from Liz, she says that you were really good as well.' William said shaking his hand.

'They all talked for a few minutes, until it was time to go to the school. Liz ran upstairs to change, and a minute later she appeared. 'Bye Dad. C-ya later.'

'Bye Lizzy. Bye William and Georgie.'

'Bye Mr. Bennet, nice to have meet you.' Georgie said getting into the car.

'Bye Mr. Bennet, I hope you come to practice again soon.'

'I sure will. Bye.' Thomas said waiving and walking back into the house.

    Chapter 10

Posted on Sunday, 8 August 1999

Liz, William, and Georgie arrived at the school to find that practice was indeed cancelled.

'Well what are we going to do?' Georgie said.

'I don't know, maybe we could rent a movie and go back to our place.' William suggested.

'Good idea. Hey we could rent Varsity Blues, I've heard it was good.

'Yeah that sounds cool Liz.' Georgie said.

And they all went to the video store and rented it and went back to the Darcys.

'Mom? Dad? Were home.' William yelled.

'Hey Will, Liz, and Georgie, practice was cancelled huh?'

'Yeah mom it was, so we rented a movie. Do you want to watch Varsity Blues with us?' William asked.

'No thanks hon. I was about to go out and meet some friends and your father already left. He wanted to go and check on the office.' Mrs. Darcy said walking out.

    'Ok bye Mom.'

'Hey William can I use the phone and call my dad and let him know where I am?'

'Yeah sure Liz. Go ahead and I will make some popcorn.'

    'Thanks.'

After the movie was over they were all talking about it.

'Wow, can you believe that coach?' Liz said. 'He was downright horrible.'

'Yeah, I am glad that Coach Magrane isn't like that. He really cares about us.' William said.

'Ugh, I hated the head-cheerleader, just like her to drop Lance and move on to Mox.' Georgie said.

'Yeah well in Texas high school football is big.' William said. 'Hey if I get injured would you do that Liz?'

'Do what William?' Liz said looking at him.

'If I got injured would you then start to date George Watkins?' William said smirking at her.

'What? You can't be serious!' Liz yelled angrily, glaring at William.

    Chapter 11

'No I am not just wondering.' William said smiling.

'Well no I wouldn't do that and besides I hate George Watkins. He is too conceited and thinks only of himself. You better not get hurt William, because unlike Mox, George would gladly take your place.'

'Hey you two I gotta go and study with Jenny Annesley.' Georgie said getting up.

    'Ok c-ya Georgie.'

    'Bye Liz.'

'So Liz, what do you want to do?'

'Not sure, wanna go for a walk?'

    'Sure lets go.'

While they were walking they were once again talking about George Watkins.

'I just don't like him William. He already tried asking me out twice. It's just something about him that bugs me.'

'Yeah I know Liz. Well don't worry I will make sure he stays away from the both of us.'

'Thanks William, that's very sweet of you.' Liz said looking at him.

'You're welcome.' William said pulling her towards him and bending down. And like magic they kissed, both never feeling anything like it before. When they broke away, all they could do is just stare at each other.

'Well,' Liz said not sure what to say.

'Well,' William said grinning at her. 'Shall we return?'

'Yes William, lets do.' Liz said placing her hand in his.
Both were silent on the walk back, until they heard.

'Will! Will darling. Oh hello Eliza.' Carol Bingley said walking towards them in a bright orange jumpsuit.

    'Hello Carol.'

'Hi Carol, nice outfit.' Liz said sarcastically.

'Thank you.' Carol said, turning her attention to William.
'What about that storm? It was pretty bad huh? I guess it ruined out plans last night, right Will?'

    'What plans?'

'Oh me and Will were planning on going out last night but the storm.'

'Oh excuse me. I have to get home.' Liz said turning around and jogging away.

'Liz wait please!' William yelled, but it was too late, Liz was definitely hurt.

'There my darling that annoying girl is out of the way.'

'No Carol. You are wrong. that annoying girl is still here. Look Carol, I don't like you, when will you understand that. I like Liz and right now I need to go and catch up with her.' William said angrily and turned around to run after Liz.

This isn't over yet Eliza Bennet, I will be head-cheerleader, and I will have Will Darcy. Carol said with a evil glint in her eyes.

    Chapter 12

Posted on Sunday, 15 August 1999

'Liz! Liz wait, please Liz.' William said finally catching up to her. 'Listen honey, Carol was lying. The only plans I had yesterday were to do Calc homework with you. That was it, I swear.'

Liz stopped and turned to look at William. 'Um look William, I really should be getting home I will see you in school on Monday. Ok?'

'No Liz, we are going to see a movie remember?'

'Actually I can't. I have more homework and I really should be home with my family.' Liz said walking to her car. 'Bye William.'

'Wait Liz don't, please don't let Carol win. She said that just to hurt you and I didn't like it one bit. I finally told her that I don't like her and I never did. It is you I like Lisa.' William said walking over to her and wrapping his arms around her to make her look at him.

Liz stopped and looked at him, when she met his gaze she stopped what argument she was about to start and said. 'I like you too William. I am sorry, I shouldn't have known that Carol would do something like that.'

William grinned at her and said, 'So are we still going out tonight?'

Instead of answering him, Liz bent up and kissed him. After the first moment of shock, William kissed her back as much as she was kissing him. When they broke away Liz said, 'Yes we are. However I need to go home for a bit, call me when you are ready. Ok?'

'Sure.' William said hugging her and then watching her leave.

'You really do like her? Don't you son?' Mr. Darcy said.

'Oh hi Dad.' William said blushing at his father. 'Yes I do, I really do. And how long have you been standing there.'

'Just a minute, I am glad you like her Will. She is a terrific young lady.'

'Yes Dad she is. She is certainly the most terrific girl I have ever met.' William said grinning at his father as they were walking back into the house.

    Chapter 13

    Posted on Saturday, 18 September 1999, at 1 : 00 a.m.

When Liz got home, her mom was waiting for her. 'Elizabeth Bennet! Where have you been?' Mrs. Bennet yelled.

'I was at a friends house watching a movie mom.'

    'Oh really.'

'Yes mom and by the way I have a date tonight.'

'A date? With who?' Mrs. Bennet asked.

'William Darcy, we are going to the movies.' Liz said calmly waiting for her mother to overreact.

'William Darcy! Oh my, the you finally came to your senses and you are going to follow tradition.' Mrs. Bennet said happily.

'No mom, I am not dating William because of that stupid tradition. I am going to the movies with him because I like him.' Liz said glaring at her mother.

'You like him? Why just yesterday you were saying that he was an arrogant conceited jerk.' Lindsey said joining the conversation.

'Well that was yesterday.' Liz said turning to look at her younger sister.

'This wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that you were over at his house.' Lindsey said smirking at her.

'Yes it would, I was at his house watching a movie with him and Georgie.'

'And just how did you end up over there.' Mrs. Bennet asked.

'I went by the Darcys this morning to pickup Georgie for practice and since William also had practice he came too. Since practice was cancelled we decided to rent a movie and go back to their house and watch it.' Liz replied casually.

'You didn't answer my question Liz, why so suddenly did you change your mind about Will Darcy?'

'I thought wrong about him, I thought he was nothing more that a snob, so I didn't give him a chance. So finally I decided to give him a chance and found out that he is a great guy. OK Lindsey?'

'Yeah sure whatever!' Lindsey said walking out and heading upstairs to her room.

'Well mom is this interrogation over with? I got some homework to finish before my date.' Liz said starting to walk out.

'Yes Lizzy it is. Oh and another thing, we are having a BBQ tomorrow afternoon. Maybe you could invite Will and his sister.'

'Yeah mom sure I will find out if they could come.'

'Great and Billy Collins will be there.'

'Ugh mom, no not Billy.' Liz said with a gag. Billy Collins was their step-cousin, his father married on of Liz's aunts. And Billy has always had his eye on Liz.

'Yes he will be there, so try and be nice to him Elizabeth.'

'Wont promise anything but I will try. Talk to ya late mom.' Liz said walking up to her room.

    'Liz is that you?'

    'Yeah Jamie, what's up?'

'Not much, so how did it go with Will last night?' Jamie asked.

'Umm hang on a second.' Liz said shutting Jamie's door. 'It went fine. We finally cleared up that little problem and I found out that he is really a great guy.'

'So, you are going out tonight?'

'Yeah and mom totally flipped out, she thinks the only reason that I am is to follow that stupid tradition.' Liz said rolling her eyes.

'Yeah well that's mom. By the way did she tell you about Billy coming over tomorrow?'

'Ugh yes don't remind me. I am glad that William is going to be there to protect me from him.' Liz said with a grin.

    'Yeah him and George both.'

'George?' Liz looked at her questionably.

'Yeah didn't mom tell you,' Liz shook her head. 'Mom and Lindsey ran into him earlier and invited him to the BBQ tomorrow.'

'Great! That is all I need is him here tomorrow. I will talk with you later Jam.' Liz said getting up.

    'Where are you going?'

'I am going to call William.'

    'Ok bye.'

    'C-ya Jamie.'

    'Hello?'

    ''Will Darling' how are you?'

'Ha ha very funny Liz.' William replied sarcastically.

    'Sorry couldn't help it.'

'So what is wrong? You are not canceling are you?'

'No William I'm not. I just found out something from my mom though.'

    'What's that?'

'Well we are having this BBQ tomorrow and she wants you and Georgie to come.'

'Sure Id love to, but I don't think Georgie can. I think that she has plans with her friends tomorrow.'

    'That's not the problem.'

'Then what is Liz?' William asked worriedly.

'My mom also invited George Watkins.'

'George? Why would she do that?'

'I don't have a clue, now you see why I called.'

'Yeah, well what do you want to do Liz?' William said.

'I don't know, I would suggest that we do something else but I shouldn't. I mean Jamie and Charlie are going to be there as well.' Liz said sadly.

'Then I guess you and me are going to the BBQ tomorrow. Ok?'

'Yeah great can't wait. Ok, well I'll let you go. See you in a bit.'

'Yeah I'll call you when I am ready, till then my Liz.'

'Later William.' Liz said hanging up the phone. Liz then pulled out her Government book and started her homework.

Later William came over and they went to see Runaway Bride.

'Well I will see you tomorrow Liz.'

'Yeah at noon bye.' Liz said kissing him goodnight.

'Bye Liz, pleasant dreams.' William said leaving.

    Chapter 14

    Posted on Wednesday, 22 September 1999, at 12 : 22 a.m.

'And how are you doing dearest Elizabeth?'

'OK lets get one thing strait Billy! I am not your dearest anything. So just leave me alone.' Liz said yelling at him and walking away wishing that William would get there.

    'Hi Liz, how are you?'

'I am fine George and you.' Liz said turning around to look at the next pest of the day.

'Not so good. I just heard from your sister that my girl went out with my rival last night.' George said placing his hands on her arms.

Ugh! What is it with men today? Liz thought while saying, 'Listen George. I am going to tell you the same thing I just told Billy. I am not yours so leave me alone.'

'You know you were always a kidder Lizzy. Come on you know that we belong together.' George said trying to place his arms around her.

'Actually she doesn't belong to no one George, so take your hands off her.'

'Hello Darcy.' George turned around to look at him. 'How is your arm?'

'Fine thanks. Come on Liz, your father is looking for you.'

'Sure William. Bye George.' Liz said grabbing Williams arm and walking away.

'Bye Liz' George said glaring at William. This isn't over yet Darcy. I will be star quarterback and I will have Liz Bennet.

'Thank you William.' Liz said kissing him on the cheek.

'You're welcome beautiful. I am sorry that I didn't get here sooner.'

'That's ok. I am just glad that you got here when you did.' Liz said smiling at him.

'Dearest Elizabeth, who is the person you are with?'

'I am her boyfriend Will Darcy, and who are you?' William said emphasizing the boyfriend part.

'I am Billy Collins, and you must be mistaken for I am her intended suitor.'

'What? I don't think so Billy. Can't you take a hint I don't like you? So back off.' Liz said yelling at him.

    'But Elizabeth darling...'

'You heard her Mr. Collins. Back off!' William said calmly but forcefully.

'Come on William, I will show you around the house.' Liz said walking away with William. Liz took him inside and up to show him her room. When they got there, Liz flopped down on her bed.

'Ugh what is it with those two. Why don't they take a hint?'

'I don't know my dear, but I hope that they do now. And by the way who was that toad?'

Liz looked at him and laughed. 'He's my step-cousin. His father married one of my aunts. And since we've met he's got it in his head that we belong together.'

'Well he is in for an awakening.'

'Hey William did you mean it?'

    'Mean what Liz?'

'About what you said to him when you introduced yourself to him?'

'About me being your boyfriend?' Liz nodded. 'Yes I did, at least I hope that I am.'

'Yes you are. And I am your girlfriend right?' Liz said standing up.

'Yes you are my lovely Liz.' William said kissing her.

'Hey Liz! Ops sorry you two.' Jamie said.

'No problem Jamie,' Liz said blushing. 'What's up?'

'Dad is looking for you and Will.'

'Ok thanks Jam, well are you ready to back into the lions den?'

'With you beside me, I could handle anything.' William said smiling at her.

Liz kissed him one more time and said, 'lets go you arrogant jerk.'

'Ok you headstrong infuriating lady.' William said grinning. They both laughed all the way out to where Mr. Bennet was standing.

    'Hey daddy what is up?'

    'Not much expect for Billy.'

'What does he want now?' Liz said rolling his eyes.

'He wanted to know why he wasn't told that I allowed you to be with someone else.' Mr. Bennet said grinning.'

'Oh that. Well daddy, allow me to introduce my boyfriend William.' Liz said holding William's hand.

'I thought so. Well you take care of her. Don't you hurt my little girl.'

'I have no intention of doing so Mr. Bennet.' William said seriously, wrapping his arm around Liz's waist.

'Ok then, well now that that is finally. How about we throw around the football?'

    'Sound like fun Mr. Bennet.'

'I think I'll watch, be careful William and Daddy.'

'We will, don't you worry my dear.' Mr. Bennet said kissing his daughter on the head. 'Ok does anyone else here want to throw around the football with William and me.'

'Sure I would love to Mr. Bennet, since I don't get that much of a chance.' George said glaring at William.

'Ok Mr. Watkins, but we are just tossing it around.' Mr. Bennet said forcefully.

So then William, Mr. Bennet, George, Charlie, and Billy (just to show off in front of Liz) started to throw the football around the yard. Liz sat on the table watching them and yelling for William.

    'Hello Eliza.'

    'Hi Carol, how are you?'

'I'm fine. So what is going on between you and my Will?'

Liz turned around to face Carol and said. 'Lets get on thing straight Carol. He isn't your William and he never will be. He likes me Carol not you, so leave him alone.'

Just as Liz was about to turn back around she saw Carol grin at something. Just then she heard Jamie scream.

    'Watch out Lizzy!'

Next thing Liz knew is that something hit her and she blanked out while falling to the ground.

    Chapter 15

    Posted on Wednesday, 6 October 1999, at 10 : 37 p.m.

author's note: In the story I will be using both 'Will' an 'William', 'William' will only be used by Liz and Mr. Bennet. However, 'Will' will be used by Jamie and others, since he doesn't like William except for when Liz uses it.

When Liz finally opened her eyes she saw William sitting beside her. 'William?'

'Liz honey you're awake.' William said moving next to her.

    'Yeah..oh! What happen?'

'George threw a wild ball and it hit you in the back. You fell off the table and onto the ground.'

'Oh, who was suppose to catch it?'

'I was Liz. I am so sorry.' Charlie said walking over to her.

'That's ok accidents will happen. Although I am not so sure that this was an accident.'

'What do you mean Liz?' William asked worriedly.

'Well Carol came up behind me, I turned around, something in which I shouldn't have done. And as I was about to turn back I saw her grin at something.' Liz said remembering.

'So she knew, or saw George about to throw it. I will have to have a little chat with my darling little sister.' Charlie said angry.

'Sure, hey Charlie I don't blame you.'

'I know that Liz, I blame Carol. I will go and get your father for you.'

    'Thanks.'

'Are you sure you are ok my Liz?' William asked quietly.

'Yeah, besides being a little sore I am fine. Now I know what you guys go through each practice and game.' Liz said grinning at him.

'Yeah well at least we have pads on. Liz I was so worried. I mean I heard Jamie scream your name and the rest happen in slow motion.' William said quietly.

'Tell me about it. Actually I do remember you yelling my name, you said Elizabeth.'

'I know.' William said reaching over and kissing her on the forehead.

'And how is my precious girl?'

'I am fine Daddy, just feeling a little dumb.'

    'Why is that Lizzy?'

'Well one of the first rules is never turn your back when people are throwing around a ball.' Liz said.

'Yeah well I am glad that you are ok. Mostly I am glad so this one will stop fretting so much.' Mr. Bennet said pointing at William.

'Thanks Mr. Bennet.' William said looking at him with a betrayed look.

'Oh don't worry William I won't tell anyone else,' Mr. Bennet replied chuckling.

Liz started to giggle at watching her father and William getting along so well. 'Hey Daddy, when can I go home?'

'Actually the doctor said you could as soon as you wake up and he comes in and checks on you.'

'Good because I really hate hospital beds.' Liz said grinning. Just then the doctor walked in and after checking her, gave her the ok to go home.

'She just needs rest and no school or practice tomorrow.' Dr. Wentworth said looking at Mr. Bennet.

    'Yes thank you Dr. Wentworth.'

'My pleasure, you take care Miss Bennet.'

    'I will thank you.'

After the doctor left William and Mr. Bennet stepped outside to let Liz change.

    'Liz honey are you ready?'

    'Yes Daddy I am.'

'Liz what are you doing?' Mr. Bennet asked at seeing his daughter getting up.

'What does it look like? I am walking out of this hospital.'

'Oh no you are not.' William said picking her up.

'William! Put me down, I don't need to be carried.' Liz said wrapping her arms around his neck.

'It's either this or the wheelchair.'

'Then this, definitely this.' Liz said laying her head in the small of his neck.

'Shall we go?' Mr. Bennet said laughing with Charlie.

    'Yes Mr. Bennet we shall.'

When they got home, William still insisted on carrying her.

    'We're home!' Mr. Bennet announced.

'Good where is she?' Jamie asked.

'I'm here Jamie,' Liz answered from William's arms.

    'How are you Lizzy?'

'The doctor says that I am fine. I will just be sore for a few days.' Liz said glancing at Charlie, who walked over to Jamie.

'Liz I am so sorry. I guess it sometimes happens.' George said walking over.

'Yes it does.' William said tightly.

'William I am a little tired, could you please take me to my room?' Liz said sensing William's anger.

'Yeah sure silly me. You must want to get out of my arms.' William said grinning at her.

'Actually no. This is fine with me.' Liz said blushing and kissing him on the cheek.

'William why don't you go and take Lizzy to her room?'

'Sure Mr. Bennet, come on beautiful time for some rest.' William said taking her inside.

'Bye all,' Liz said as William took her in.

'Great! George just great! That didn't work at all. The plan was to separate them not bring them closer together.'

'I know Carol, don't you think that it made me sick as well to see Liz in his arms. I thought that you were supposed to have your back to me not her. The plan was you get hit with the ball, blame Liz for distracting you and make Darcy made at her. I didn't plan on hitting Liz in the back.'

'I know, but do you think I actually wanted to get hit with the ball.' Carol said smirking.

'You planned it that way didn't you. Why you...'

    'George! Carol, is something wrong?'

    'No Charlie nothing right George?'

'Yeah we were talking about some homework. How's Jamie?'

'She's fine. Excuse me but Carol has to be getting home now.' Charlie said glaring at his little sister.

    'Ok bye George.'

    'Bye Carol,' George said tightly.

Meanwhile back in the house, well Liz's room.

'Here you are my dear.' William said placing Liz on her bed.

'Thank-you William.' Liz said smiling at him.

'Well I guess that I'll let you get some sleep.' William said noticing that Liz was yawning and her eyes slowly closing.

'Huh? No, please, William, stay with me.' Liz said looking at him pleadingly.

'Ok,' William said lying down with her and taking her in his arms. 'There safe and sound and no one will hurt you.'

    'Much better, thanks William.'

'You are welcome' William said closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep as well.

'Dad. Come here you got to see this.'

    'What is it Jamie?'

'Look, I was about to come up here to see what happen to Will and I found them.' With that Jamie pointed to Liz safe and sleeping peacefully in her boyfriend's arms.

'My, my will you look at that. Its amazing to see how far they both have come. I mean just Friday morning, she was so set against him and now...'Thomas said gesturing with his hand.

'I know, well I'm glad for Liz, Will is such a sweet guy.'

'And he takes Liz's sharp tongue and gives it back to her.' Thomas said chuckling.

    'Yeah should we wake them?'

'No. Let them sleep a little more. Poor William was really worried about her.' Thomas said remembering not too long ago a very agitated young man pacing the hospital floor. 'Come on Jamie, let's go back to the BBQ and try to keep Billy and George away from them.'

'Yeah I will second that.' Jamie said laughing quietly and closing the door behind her.

About an hour later Liz opened her eyes to find a body under hers. She titled her head and saw William still asleep. She grinned, amazing he looks so boyishly cute, and it's hard to think that I thought this kind sweet person was really arrogant and conceited. I can't believe I was so prejudice against him. Well that won't happen again.

'What are you grinning about Liz?' The object of Liz's thoughts asked.

'Nothing, just thinking.' Liz said blushing.

    'How are you?'

'I'm fine, I feel so much better. What time is it?'

'It's about 6 in the afternoon.' William replied looking at his watch.

'Hmm that would explain why I am hungry. Can we please go downstairs and get something to eat?' Liz said in a baby voice.

'Sure, actually I'm kinda hungry myself.' William said as they both got up and headed downstairs.

'Liz my dear, how are you feeling?'

'I'm fine Daddy. Really I'm ok!' Liz said hugging her dad.

'Well you look better, you and William both.' Thomas said grinning at them both.

'Thank you Mr. Bennet.' William said.

'Actually Daddy we are a little hungry.'

'Yes I would think so, come on out back and get some food.' Thomas said motioning for them to go out.

'Wait! Daddy who is still here?' Liz asked a little concerned.

'Mostly everyone, except for Miss Bingley. Charlie took that one home shortly after you two went upstairs to nap.' Thomas said with a lop-sided grin.

'I think what Liz is trying to say is George still here?' William said placing his arm around her.

'Yes, unfortunately he is.' Thomas said with a hint of anger in his voice.

'That's ok Daddy, I guess we better go out sooner or later and get this over with.' Liz said wrapping her arm around William's waist.

'Sure let's go.' William said walking outside.

'Hi Liz, how are you feeling?'

'I'm fine Charlie. I feel much better.' Liz said kissing her sister's boyfriend on the cheek.

'Well there's Jamie. Bye.' Charlie said blushing and walking away.

'C'mom beautiful, let's get something to eat.' After they got some BBQ and sat down at a table, George slowly made his way over to them.

"Leave them alone Mr. Watkins." Thomas said stepping in front of him.

    "Excuse me Mr. Bennet."

"You heard me leave my daughter and her boyfriend alone. You've done enough today." Thomas said anger in his voice.

"It was an accident sir, I would never harm Liz." George said truthfully.

"I'm not sure about that, I've seen enough football to realize when it was a wild ball or an intentionally thrown one."

"Are you saying that I would hurt Liz on purpose? I would never do that."

"I'm not sure about that, but for now I want you to stay away from them. Let her have some peace, she has been through enough for the day."

"Yes sir," George said walking away, all the while glaring at Darcy.

"I wonder what that was about?"

    "What Liz?"

"My father and George. George was about to come over here and my dad interrupted."

"Oh well I guess your father knows that maybe he didn't throw a "wild ball" as George called it.

"I still don't get it." Liz said looking at William.

    "Get what?"

"Well if George supposedly likes me, why would he intentionally throw a ball at me." Liz asked puzzled.

"I don't know but I bet Carol has something to do with it." William said remembering Carol smirking as Liz fell to the ground.

"Yeah I bet she did," Liz was about to say more when they were interrupted.

"Lizzy, me dear, dear girl. Are you ok? I was so worried about you." Fanny Bennet came over.

"Yes mother I am fine. No real damage done." Liz said rolling her eyes at William.

"Well in that case. Jamie! Jamie!" Fanny said walking away.

"Stop trying to laugh William." Liz said looking at her boyfriend, who was trying not to laugh.

"Sorry sweetie, but I couldn't help it. Forgive me dearest Liz." William said taking her hand in his.

"Yeah I guess for this time."

    "Hey you two!"

"Hey Charlie. Where's Jamie?" Liz said looking at her sister's boyfriend.

"Trying to get away from your mother." Charlie said grinning, sitting across from Will and Liz.

"Stop it William!" Liz said jabbing her now laughing boyfriend in the ribs.

"Hey what did I do?" William said innocently.

"Stop laughing. Hey Jamie! Please come and help me with these two." Liz said looking at her sister.

"Sure no problem, what are they doing now?"

    "Just laughing about mother's umm..."

"Way to interfere with our lives." Jamie concluded sitting down next to Charlie.

"Yeah. I guess you could say that." Liz said laughing. "So what happen while we were gone?"

"Not much. I just don't understand how that could have happened?" Jamie said.

"Well it was partially my fault. I shouldn't have turned my back." Liz said.

"No! It wasn't your fault." William said wrapping his arms carefully around her.

"What did Carol want anyway?" Charlie said doing the same with Jamie.

"Not much, she just wanted to know what was going on with me and her Will." Liz replied.

"She won't learn. I hope that now she realizes that we are together." William said kissing her neck.

"I talked to her while taking her home and I think that she will stop and leave you alone." Charlie said.

"I'll believe that when I see it." Liz said leaning back into William's arms.

"So when did this happen Will?"

    "What Charlie?" William asked confused.

"You and Liz that's what. I mean just 3 days ago all you two did was fight. And now look at you two." Charlie said with Jamie nodding.

"Oh well we found our that we liked more things than just fighting with each other." Liz replied laughing as William kissed her again."

"Oh well then I'm happy for you both. Nothing I would have liked better that for you two to get together. I'd always thought that you two would be a cute couple." Jamie said laughing while Charlie tickled her.

"Well don't you four look happy." Lindsey said walking over.

"Hey Lyns." Jamie said. "What's up?"

"Not much, shame about George leaving, he's pretty cute huh Liz?" Lindsey said smirking at her.

"WHATEVER! I don't thinks so, I am quite happy with my boyfriend here." Liz said turning around kissing William on the lips. William just kissed her back enjoying it.

"YUCK! I'm going to be sick. Later." Lindsey said walking away.

"Good one Liz, I never thought of doing that." Jamie said laughing.

"Neither did I but I'll have to keep that in mind for the next time. Right honey?" Liz said looking at William.

"Right" William said laughing at Liz and kissing her again.
