Until Time

Until time when I fall asleep, instead
Of counting white flocks of sheep
I count the golden tresses upon her head
With a wistful kiss, I am reeled in too deep.

Vanilla and lemon winces out of the blue
Romeo, Romeo, whatever did you do-
Did you ever think of people and lovers anew?
Why did you not find someone else to woo?

Yet, I understand as I sit here
As gossip and dancing flows around
And, the only thing real is your face here
The silence between us if forever found.

Once or twice in a solemn flicker
You just might think of a friend like me
Never knowing how my heart beat quicker
As I saw your blue eyes of the sea.

Jane, you are my sweet heavenly queen
He reprimands me without a word to forget
Yet, all love lies only for you to be seen
If only our heart-strings for a moment met.

I did not tell you farewell, I realize this
Yet how, when I know you love me not
All I ever would ask of you is just one kiss
This is how desperate is my lot

Dreams of you reach out to me rushed
And one day, I smelled vanilla and lemon and fled
"No, not now!" I sobbed on the floor crushed.
Until time when I fall asleep, instead.
