Oh if you are into crime novels by women....I found some by Sheila Quigley at the Boekenfestijn, but I'm not sure I'd recommend them. She hardly ever uses the word 'you'; it's 'yer' everywhere even in the narrative. Which is a little off-putting. Also, I read Ian Rankin directly afterwards and the thoughts and speech of DI Rebus are so much more sophisticated than those of Quigley's DI. (I just had to get this off-topic comment off my chest ;-))
