Hello all - this has nothing to do with Jane Austen other than it's about entertainment and the arts.
My son just finished his competitive marching career with a world championship as a member of the Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. This was the last year he was eligible to march in DCI (Drum Corps International). He's too old to do it any more, thus he's aged-out.
If you know anything about the marching arts and drum corps, you know this was a big deal for him and our family. Not only did the Blue Devils win the title, he won the trumpet solo competition on the Wednesday before the corps won on Saturday (on August 13th). It was a great way to go out. I'm so proud of my son!!!
After 8 years involved as a parent in drum corps, it already feels weird to be done. Next summer promises to be weirder yet. lol
Anyway, now I have one less excuse not to write...
