Last night, the mayor and City Council of a small town some miles west of Chicago, met and considered my application to become their police chief.
They decided to hire me and informed me last night.
For most cops, becoming a chief is the pinnacle of a law enforcement career. There are over 700,000 cops in the US, federal, state, and local, but only about 3% ever become chiefs. So I'm in a kind of elite group.
As you can imagine, I'm pretty stoked.
