I thought the title was familiar but wasn't until I was going through my JAFF bookmarks that I realised why - it's because it's one of the many stories here at the DWG I had bookmarked.

The only thought I had was that potentially the author asked for it to be taken down perhaps? Can't remember the whole of the plot but I recall that because of an illness at a young age Darcy was rendered deaf, iirc the story more or less followed P&P but with the added elements of people's superstitious nonsense and such because of that and some other elements.
