Yes, stealing stories has happened before but now there is such a thing as e-readers and publishing copyrighted stories is happening a lot. And it takes a while for the author's to get their stories back and have the ones illegally published removed. Talk to some of the writer's this has happened to and you'll see how difficult it is, especially if the copyright protection has been removed. It's for this reason many authors no longer post stories for readers to enjoy for free they just post for sale since they're afraid their stories will be stolen.
This person has now moved to publishing plagiarized stories on another site. And they boldly state the story isn't theirs.
