Re: Almost Persuaded Chapters 29 and 30

She always seemed to be a hopeless case, didn't she? (I have read some amazing stories though, where she is astute but tries to make by. Her father has sold all jewellery, changing them silently for fakes, and she has the background role of trying to contain, hide, and get out of it all.)

In this story, it is probable that both her sisters will marry before her and within 2-5 years, once she is "on the shelf" according to the norms of that time, she'll even stop going to London or Bath or anywhere else, lock herself up with daddy, and leaf through fashion magazines day in day out while plaster falls off walls in rooms due to humidity that was never addressed. She'd never lower herself and marry a person "of a lower class" out of desperation.

Upon the death of her father though...? Does she have funds to support herself? Or would she move with Lady Russell or her relatives? Or god forbid, her sisters? (It is worth making the captain absurdly rich if only to spare Anne such a fate!)
