I really enjoy these vignettes from Hunsford. In P&P, we only see Mr. Collins from Lizzy's point of view, and as she tends to exaggerate faults, we may assume that Mr. Collins is ridiculous, but perhaps not as repulsive in reality as Lizzy finds him. It's very nice to see a Mr. Collins who is, though inept, proud, and not particularly self-aware, nevertheless somewhat likable. And the gentle slapstick humor of the situations he finds himself in is wonderful.
