Note that I'm neither confirming nor denying the existence of a sequel but I'll just say, if there were a sequel (let's say, just for the sake of the argument, that I could have posted this because I was working on the sequel and then realised I never posted the original story here), it might just be that the fact that Elizabeth cannot be compromised by Darcy right now, came up in that sequel. If such a sequel existed. Which might or might not be the case. Who knows.
