The difficulty with reading stories that are posted once a week is remembering the details. I did not remember J's age. But you gave me an excuse to reread your story and I really enjoyed it the second time as much as the first.

I hope someone tells her she doesn't need to elope -- she and the Colonel can get a common license and marry without reading the banns. The Fitzwilliams and Darcys can all be present.

I am assuming that a settlement has already been formalized in a marriage contract so the fact that J's father withdraws his consent doesn't or shouldn't impact the real and personal property committed to go to the Colonel after the marriage takes place. He would have a cause of action to enforce the agreement if J's father refuses to honor it.
