Thanks for commenting Lucy. Mr. Hurst surprised me: I don't know if that's exactly how Austen envisioned him (he took on some of Mr. Palmer as I wrote), but I think regardless of how much he knew or saw, a sloth he would remain. Writing a letter in the voice of General Tilney was challenging primarily to keep it brief; I imagine he wrote usually longer letters to his "particular friends."
