Again, I think Catherine gets a bad rap of being a pushover or a wallflower, as if all she does is let Henry "boss" her around. Modern readers latch on to his lectures and her inexperience and immediately see it as patriarchal power. But Henry spends a lot of time
discussing things with Catherine, and genuinely listening to her concerns and addressing them, while she in turn is not afraid to debate him when not convinced (both when she first asks him about Frederick's interest into Isabella, and later when receiving the latter's letter and saying how she's still not happy about his brother's conduct). So I wanted to show here that Catherine's not above challenging Henry if she believes a) she's in the right and b) it's necessary for a greater good.
Both of them show a lot of respect for the other even when they're in highly charged moments; I think their respect would only grow during their courtship and marriage. Thanks again for commenting on each chapter, it was so nice to see new replies today.
