I did find the epilogue a bit confusing with the time allotted between letters/updates, but I finally think I figured it out: that each grouping of time was the amount of years from the start of the epilogue -- is that right? As otherwise the time between updates would have been too many years gone by? I would have found it much easier to figure out if you just listed the amount of time between each update. Hope that makes sense.
