I genuinely did not see that coming, so kudos for surprising the reader (although I was far more interested in what Henry and possibly Edward thought of their fellow clergymen than whatever Mr. Elton did). It's definitely more on the zany side than horrific, which is fine, and certainly feels true to Mr. Elton's character (stalker!Ann feels odd but I'll buy it for the sake of the ending). Thanks for a silly/scary chuckle.
