Re: Laura Evans 4-7

This story was charming, and I liked Gerard's realisation that he doesn't want an ethereal wife as much as I liked Laura keeping her head and forcing him to get to know her a bit before accepting his proposal.

I think these short stories would be good to publish in the same volume as Sins of Society, rather than having their own book.

By the way, we haven't heard anything of the Campbells and Dixons for quite a while. As they brought Jane up, surely she is still on good terms with them? It's not their fault any more than the Westons' that Jane was taken in by Frank. The Campbells may be presumed to be in town at least sometimes, and Jane probably corresponds with Mrs Dixon. Perhaps a future story might take this into account?
