Great ending, Sarah! Just the right balance of fireworks, action and romance
Libby and Jane's conversation makes me wonder if it's Jane the young lady you said was "reluctant" about a pairing with Sir Henry... He might be a gentleman, but has he got any real depth of feeling? Based on what happens here, I'm still not sure.
Jane has enough mettle to be a wonderful heroine someday, so I'll trust you to find her a good match.
Loved the last letters you included, especially the one from Lucius to Marc. As I must have written before, their correspondence is a delight to read.
A delight to read was also this whole story, Sarah. Libby couldn't have had a better one than this, or a better husband than Lucius. It's all in this quote:
Quote
“I am never sure whether you are overbearing or masterful.”
“You will call it masterful when your own desires march the same way, and overbearing when you wish to do something different,” said Lucius.
“Ah, then it is masterful,” said Libby.
Married life is going to be a great adventure for both!
Thank you, Sarah! You will surely be missed here in ANI Board, but I'm glad you found a new place to publish. See you there
