Some settings on our server changed a couple weeks ago, and I have been trying another way to save the mobile view settings between sessions. Does switching views work better for you now? Or should I keep working on it?by Margaret D - Tea Room
I think I have figured out the problems with the ANI archive code. https://www.dwiggie.com/toc/ani_index.php?order=date and https://www.dwiggie.com/toc/ani_authors.php Both now look right to me, but it has been too long since I have been browsing that part of the site (sorry ANI authors!), so please tell me if there are still problems.by Margaret D - Tea Room
Thank you for telling us about the problem. I made some very clever changes to the message board source code several years ago that I forgot about when I upgraded to a new version of the code last week. My very clever changes are now in the new version of the source code. Switching between mobile and non-mobile view works now on my Android phone and Linux laptop, but I don't have Apple productsby Margaret D - Tea Room
I have been updating a lot of the site's web code recently, and I have not gotten to the ANI code yet. I hadn't realized that the archives pages were broken so badly. Sorry about that! I hope to fix everything tonight. This code problem only affects the archive index pages. The stories themselves are all fine and should be accessible if you have the full URL.by Margaret D - Tea Room
Our other domain "thedwg.com" has been fixed. All the old links should be working now. ex. http://thedwg.com/derby/oldc/lise7.htm for Lise's "Changing Principles". Thank you to everyone who contacted us about the problem.by Margaret D - Tea Room
We are having problems with our server "thedwg.com", where we keep the oldest stories in our archives. We are working to fix the problem. I have placed copies of the old stories on our main server as a temporary fix. If you are trying to read an old story that is located on "thedwg.com" (or if you click on a link and get a strange dialog box asking for a username and password), copy the URL anby Margaret D - Tea Room
The Code of the Woosters is my favorite Wodehouse novel. It is part of the Bertie Wooster and Jeeves series, and it involves an aunt, several unlikely engagements, a comic fascist, and a cow creamer. Aunts, engagements, and comic fascists are common in the Jeeves books, but the cow creamer is unique and very memorable. I read most of the other Jeeves books many years ago, but I don't remember wby Margaret D - JAFF Library
Thanks for your recommendation and vampire-related comments. I look forward to the day when book publishers decide that the world has seen enough vampire books and we can all move onto the next Big Thing. I will still read Jane Bites Back, as soon as I figure out how to get a copy. It is not in my local library catalogue (not a big surprise -- they don't stock much American fiction beyond the mby Margaret D - JAFF Library
I laughed when I read the premise of Jane Bites Back, but I thought it would be a one-joke gimmick that would get old fast (like the zombies, gah). You make it sound like a book I'd enjoy reading. How much does the author go into the vampire aspect of the story? I don't like vampire romances (how sad that that is a genera), and I don't care about the mythology/legends or special vampire powersby Margaret D - JAFF Library
I just added TR to the front of the titles of the Tea room windows/tabs. I agree about how confusing it is to have too many tabs open with similar names.by Margaret D - Tea Room
