Have you read the Finishing School books (set 30 or 40 years beforehand and are YA) or Prudence (the first of the Custard Protocol books set 20 years later and just released)? In answer to your question... SPOILERS * * * * * I suspect perhaps being impaled is a rather violent and painful way to die. Perhaps Alexia's help made dying more dignified? I'm afraid you have found my weakness. While I'm good at short one shot type stories exploring a scene or an idea, I do not have a good relationship with plot. I suspect that this particular story will stay as it is. Perhaps I will take another look at my other attempts and see if I can manage something longer. We'll see where the muse takes me.
