Here we come to chapter 3, which is when things really start to heat up around here. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Chapter 3 The garden really was beautiful, at all the height of late spring, before the heat of summer had driven away its most delicate blooms, but Edmund did not see it. He could not think of anything but the girl beside him. The gravel crunchedby Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Excellent observations as always! So spot on I can't even really say too much. I am rather proud of that first speech of Mrs. Norris's, though. Fanny comes floating in, all dreamy and happy, and then she's like a bucket of cold water over her head. Such a detestable woman! I tried not to put her in the story any more than I could help it.by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I think you'll find that this is, in a large part, really all about the two guys, as they are forced to reckon with the consequences of their choices. It's not a comfortable experience for either of them! Thanks!by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Well he did get that letter...by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Good morning everyone! I have a busy day ahead, so I thought I would post early. Hope you enjoy. Chapter 2 In the morning, Fanny assisted Mary with dressing, and accepted her help in return, though she had never needed help before. They set out early, as the greater part of their journey must be accomplished today. In the carriage, Mr. Crawford seemed to be restored to his usual charm and cheeby Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I love Everingham! Seriously one of my favorite fanfictions of all time. I can't claim this one is much like it, though. I suppose the main difference here is that she caught Henry pre-Maria and Richmond, and I got him after. I'm so excited you'll be reading, Shannon. I know readership has declined, but I hope to still get a few regulars who are willing to leave comments, because I truly think iby Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Blurb: Fanny accepts a ride home from Portsmouth, Henry tries to escape his affair, and Mary and Edmund meet over Tom’s (nearly) dead body. Hello Dwiggies! It's been awhile, I know. I'm still around, just mostly doing things other than writing. However, last summer I reread Mansfield Park, and not long after, I wrote this. It was, I have to say, some of the most fun I have ever had writing, as Iby Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Will this be enough, one wonders, to make her suspicious of Wickham's story about Darcy? Probably not. It is definitely interesting to see how you are extending the mystery here, and developing Denny's personality and associations. Very interesting!by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I also suspect that the D is not for Denny--diamonds after all, you know. Really interesting. So little is said about him in the book that you can do whatever you want, and I am eager to discover a potential motive.by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Wow! I have a story I've been working on called Murder at Netherfield. It doesn't seem anything like this one, though, so that's great. Can't wait to keep reading!by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
E.E. would be Elizabeth Elliot, who was not invited. I agree about P.C., but if I wanted to include W.E. I needed to have someone who might feel used by him. Maria is both victim and not victim. Henry definitely used her very badly, but at the same time, she made her choices. No one need agree with the R.N.C.T.S. I certainly don't. Thanks!by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Moping about at Everingham, Henry Crawford is delighted to receive a summons from Fanny Price. His irresistible charisma wins again! He'll definitely get the girl this time. Written for JAOctGaHoNo.by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
This is such an interesting idea, to write drabbles based on Scriptures. I like your little looks into each of these stories. You're right that all these characters worse masks of one kind or another.by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
My official JAGoHoNo name is supposed to be Mrs. Radcliffofdespair, but it wouldn't let me post under another name. So, I had a hard time with this particular prompt. Good ideas were not easy to come by. So, yeah.... Yeah. (PS I think this is officially my first crossover story.) Like Women Scorned A fortnight had passed since he and Maria had their final, tempestuous parting, and Henry Craby Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Wow. Just, wow. I was reading this and thinking, ")h, this is sweet, though not really Hallowe'en like at all. I suppose some people just aren't up to writing Gothic stories." Yeah, you got me.by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Wow! Very interesting! I will have to go back and find Chalice of Sorrow to read. But surely you won't leave the story there? I feel sure there should be some relic that Wentworth can use to restore his memories. A world in which he and Louisa end up together just doesn't seem right.by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I'm starting to write again, so I might contribute.by Suzanne O - Tea Room
Some favorite authors of mine are Teg, Sofie, Katherine T, Shemmelle, Sandy W, Lizzy C, and Nisha. But there are many fine writers here--too many to list, really! Use the "search the archives" function to look for stories by these writers. Some people also enjoy my storiesby Suzanne O - Tea Room
Oh, yes! Marchedale. Regrettably, I probably haven't written too much more on it since you saw it. It would be nice to finish it some day. Based on the way that reading MP woke my creative juices up, and how eagerly I wrote those stories (40,000 words in 10 days on one, which is completely unprecedented for me), I suspect I'm just burnt out on Darcy and Elizabeth and the whole P&P gang. I was talking about another Mansfield Park story. I actually subsequently started a completely new Mansfield Park story, and managed to finish it in record time. However, I won't have time to post for awhile. I'm a teacher, and we're just starting our school year, so it will be a couple of months at least before I have time to think about posting. Which story were you thinking of? I have so many hby Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I need help. What do you call that room that regency houses would have, where you would prepare and hang herbs, arrange flowers, make your home-made perfumes, etc? It is right at the edge of my mind, but I can't quite bring it up, and a google search for "what do you call a room for preparing herbs" doesn't help at all. Thank you so much!by Suzanne O - Tea Room
Thank you! I'm afraid the adventures of Fanny and William would be very uncomfortable for poor Fanny. I'm glad you liked William here--I do too, I must admit. I initially just started by imagining what kind of outrageous schemes Henry might come up with to get in with Fanny, and then once I started actually thinking though it it became obvious that William, whose energy and competence practicallyby Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I did wonder a bit, actually. Was there part of the story you didn't understand? But I'm glad to know you were happy, not confused.by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Very good! I do love the way you worked all the super-villain/super-hero tropes in, and Catherine is just a darling. I would love to read a series of stories about this pair, Master Mind the not-really-supervillain/ mild mannered Henry Tilney and his girlfriend. With perhaps some evasions of his actually-evil father's schemes. Thanks so much for such a fun, unique take on these characters!by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
This is actually past the part in the story where Crawford gets his promotion for him. Probably nothing will actually come of it, since William will be off at sea in a few days, but perhaps he'll figure it out and tell Fanny his conclusions eventually. Thanks for the comment!by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
This was so hilarious and creative. And really well written! I look forward to part 2.by Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Surprise, it's me! I know I've been absent for some time now. I've been busy with life and exploring other interests. However, I just recently read MP again, and that led to reading MP fanfiction, and that led to writing a little MP fanfiction. I have an old, longer story I've also taken up again, and perhaps I will manage to finish it, but this little one-shot came out pretty much whole and I'm eby Suzanne O - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
