I'm greatly enjoying this story! Thank you for sharing it with us.by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh, this is promising!by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Aw, I like the inclusion of Kitty - in more scenes and in their lives.by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
That was not a turn I was expecting, but it was a fun little romp. Thanks for sharing!by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Well, that's a twist I wasn't expecting!by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
This is moving along swimmingly. I'm guessing it's not going to be a particularly long piece? (*narrows eyes* What are you planning for Wickham's arrival, if anything?)by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Well this is a pairing (or two) that I've never seen before! I'm intrigued.by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
"If any of the Dashwoods was going to end up dating a serial killer, it was Marianne." <-- that line made me snort out loud. Very well done. I presume they end up together? I normally don't root for these two (even in canon), but I could get behind THIS specific version of them. I mean, no pressure but I wouldn't mind an epilogue to find out what happens with them (as well as with Ryan/Maggie)by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Ohh, good one. Not too scary, but still dreadful to read about. I remember when giant hogweed was in the news a few years ago in my area, for the burns it caused and the seemingly rapid spread of the plant (though I guess things were brought under control ... or the media cycle moved on ... because I haven't heard anything about it lately). Thanks for sharing!by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Did Mama Bennet ever find out what was happening (in the last chapter, essentially)?by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I'm very sad we're nearing the end of the story, but I loved this chapter and how Phoebe and Catherine ended up helping in ways they never imagined nor wanted. Now I really do need to go to bed ...by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
LOVE IT! Love it, love it, love it. I imagine something not too dissimilar is going to happen with Mrs. Young?by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
*narrows eyes at author* I'm going to trust that all your references to Alfie and the other footmen/body guards will keep ALL the young ladies safe from any schemes that Miss Bingley and Mrs. Young can come up with, and that Wickham is going to ... at least not be evil.by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I almost groaned (I may have actually groaned) when Anna was mentioned. I like her character, but only in small doses. So, I'm glad that part of the scene was ABOUT her without her being featured. I love the idea of Aunt Phoebe and Lady Catherine conspiring about the upcoming weddings, and standing in as the grooms' mothers. I trust they'll work well with Mrs. Bennet for the planning - if there isby Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Well! That was NOT what I expected to happen in the churchyard. Is Bingley so dense he keeps coming around -- and more importantly, bringing his sister around -- where she's neither wanted nor welcome? (Was Mrs. V speaking with the other matrons? Or has she given up? Because she could totally give up at this point and just become friendly with Mrs. Bennet and the other women in the area.) Thankby Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I wish I could put stickers or gifs in my reviews. I'd include an animated, dancing, happy puppy because that's how I feel about this chapter. I've read it four times in hopes to order my thoughts before I comment. I'm sure I'll miss/forget something. Frances Bennet was superb. I was a little alarmed at her comment about Miss Bingley's age -- it seemed a bit catty, considering how Mrs. Bennet hasby Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
*raises hand* Okay, wait. I do have two questions. Less rhetorical, though I don't know that they necessarily NEED an answer (maybe just something to consider if you plan on publishing at a later date). 1. Why did Bingley wait until they were in the carriage and pulling up to the assembly to tell Caroline that they wouldn't have guests at Netherfield? (I mean, I kind of know but ... timing, man.by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
*picks jaw up off the floor* *slow whistle* Wow. That ... that was a big, fat, juicy chapter. And you're not pleased with it?! Man, I can't even imagine how much more we'd get if you were happy with it. There was a lot to unpack there. Even though Bingley has been "hardened," I still don't want him for any of the Bennet girls, not that he'd have choice pick, since the oldest three are spoken fby Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I was rereading the chapter today and *just* realized the significance of the date of Louisa Hurst's accident. *slow clap* Well done.by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
The scene with Mr. Bennet was my favorite part of this chapter, though the whole thing was enjoyable. (Yay for Wednesday postings, too!) Glad Jane and Elizabeth know what to expect in the coming weeks. Will Mr. Collins be part of the fray, as well?by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
As I said in my review on another site: what a satisfying chapter!by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I've had a busy day and hadn't had a chance to check. I was elated to see I got in just after you posted. It's taken me forever to read this chapter, though, because my husband KEEPS TALKING TO ME. Dude. I'm reading fan fiction. Give me a minute? Anyway. I'm still side-eyeing Grace Hurst, but yay for having most everything out in the open. Is it wise to have SO MANY new people know Aunt Jane isby Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
So, on reread (because I do that a lot; comment, then reread and think of more questions) I have questions. With Alfie training to be a bodyguard, so to speak, and Aunt Jane encouraging Jane to learn some basic self-defense moves, are you setting us up for some scenario where these skills are going to come into play? Maybe Bingley doesn't read a room very well ('cause he's good at that) and does sby Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh my! I was totally cheering Aunt Jane's ... handling of Grace Hurst (she'll have something to say about it when/if the Colonel considers courting the not-so-young Miss, right?) but that ending! I feel bad for laughing at Jane Bennet, but I pretty much cackled.by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh! That was quite enjoyable! I'm with EvelynJean; I'm glad it was just temporary.by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Ooh, the pairings you suggest here are exciting! (Well, I mean, other than the one we all know is gonna happen.) Maybe Charlotte Lucas and Harold Dobbs as well? Surely, none of them will pair with Miss Bingley. I noticed Bingley didn't tell his sister that Darcy won't be staying with them. When will she be apprised of that - when she arrives in Meryton and finds him engaged or recently married?by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Today, of all days, I *hadn't* checked the boards! I almost missed this update and I'd have been super sad. I loved the throwback to An Escort to Netherfield, though now I'm worried about who has entered the clearing from the side path. Not the Bingleys already, I hope? Maybe Jane? She's supposed to be enough to stop traffic. Or Aunt Jane? Or Wickham? (Because we don't really have him out of the pby Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I got confused, too! However, it's Friday, I work from home, and I'm procrastinating on that work so I just reread chapter 9. In it Darcy offers Georgiana to take up residence in Meryton before the Bingleys do, so she can make friends with local girls her age. I'm guessing Bingley will show up in September, as he does in canon.by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
My thoughts on Alfred and Cynthia Dobbs were NOT a request for anything! I was just speculating and worrying out loud. *stews worriedly for the next week*by Brigid - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
