DWG has been experiencing intermittent downtime over the past 24 hours. To fix this issue, we have just been notified by our web host that they will be undergoing emergency maintenence on the server that hosts dwiggie.com between 1AM-3AM (BST) on October 20, 2015.by Amy I. - Tea Room
Please abide by them. Particularly if you are aware of them. Thanks.by Amy I. - Tea Room
Since it is a sub-discussion of your writing plans, and not directly related to your post. Thanks.by Amy I. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
You need to go to your "Control Center" (located in the upper right corner of your computer screen). Once in your Control Center, look at the left side of your computer screen. There will be a menu of options. Under "Personal Profile," you will be able to "Edit Email Settings." That's the one you want to click. On the "Edit Email Settings" page, you have the option of "Allow other users toby Amy I. - Tea Room
Hi Jim, Couple of answers/thoughts: 1. You are correct; this message board does not support private messages (PMs). Instead, members may contact me each other via the Tea Room or email. 2. Regarding the sharing of email addresses, you have set your email address to be "hidden." That's why it does not appear in your user profile or your Baronetage profile (which pulls certain information, likeby Amy I. - Tea Room

You omitted a space between the colon and the P. When lumped together, the board code recognizes it as a inserting a smiley face. : P - spaced apart - not spaced apartby Amy I. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
As an example, if I wanted my text to appear in bold, I would use the following tags for HTML: <b> & </b> For BBcode, you would replace the < > (tags) with [ ] (brackets). Does that help?by Amy I. - Tea Room
The author's notes to your last chapter had indicated that an epilogue would be forthcoming. If this is no longer the case, I'd be happy to replace "To be continued" with "The End," and update the table of contents accordingly. Just say the word!by Amy I. - Tea Room
I checked my records to see if there were ever any requests for the story to be removed, and I don't think there were. It may be the author had intended on posting the story here when she finished "A Long Road to Happiness," but, like Sandy C, I don't think she ever did. Certainly, had she posted any portion of the sequel here, it would have been archived -- even in an incomplete state.by Amy I. - Tea Room
Our board accepts both HTML and BBcode. If you're already using HTML tags, there's no need to undergo the effort to switch them over to the BBcode brackets. From our New Tea Room Orientation post: Do we still use html tags when posting? Yes. When posting to the new board, you should still be able to utilize the html tags we all know and love. And...there is a check spelling option; it is set oby Amy I. - Tea Room
Ah, there was a typo from the original post. What's listed as Chapter 61 Legacies in the archived version should thus be Chapter 62. I'll make sure to correct the archives next time I update. Thanks for pointing it out.by Amy I. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
In order to archive your story, I will need a blurb for your story (see Contributor's Guidelines). You may either reply to this message with your blurb, or email it to me. Thanks!by Amy I. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
We have been advised that our web host will be upgrading/migrating our server this weekend, starting Saturday, April 18, at 12:01am. The upgrade/migration will continue through to Sunday, April 19, until 11:59pm BST. During this period of upgrade/migration, our website is likely to experience intermittent downtime while the web host migrates hosting accounts to the new upgraded server. I don't think it's been abandoned; I think the author just has her hands full and updates as time allows. See Beth's reply to her latest update in October 2014: http://www.dwiggie.com/phorum/read.php?5,112683,112892#msg-112892by Amy I. - Tea Room
Per the Contributor Guidelines, we ask that all members - registered or not - use a real name when posting. We find it makes for a friendlier community to know each other by name. Thanks!by Amy I. - Tea Room
Mary, I've moved your question from our main message board to our Tea Room, because the former is where authors post their stories and readers provide feedback, and the latter is for everything else -- such as your question. As for your question, we are a community of Jane Austen fan fiction writers and readers. In recent years, there have been some authors who have taken the stories they origiby Amy I. - Tea Room
Sorry, no editing feature BUT registered users CAN delete their posts (so long as no one has replied to it yet). Just copy what you had, delete, paste what you saved and edit what you need to edit. It's clunky, but it works and if it's too much work, well, we're no foe of typos around these parts so don't worry.by Amy I. - JAFF Library
That was a Facebook group created by members of the community a while back when they wanted to connect with each other via FB. We have now created an official page (not group) for the community. By clicking on the links provided in my post, you should reach the correct page! Thanks for pointing that out and allowing us to clarify.by Amy I. - Tea Room

As long time members know, and newer members will come to know, from time to time, the moderators post reminders about DWG culture and etiquette. As it has been a while since we last posted such a reminder, and in light of increased activity which always seems to occur during the summer months, we thought we would take this opportunity to answer some frequently asked questions and highlight a fewby Amy I. - A Novel Idea

Ani, I'm going to send you an email with a .jpg attachment of a screenshot of a screen (that has unread messages on it). It's too hard to know what you're seeing versus what you should be seeing, otherwise. So look for the email!by Amy I. - Tea Room
