It's run by actual Italians. I don't know if that matters? Random pizzerias (which I would not call restaurants) in NL can be run by anything-but-Italians, usually Arabs. But this is a restaurant in Luxembourg. We first found it a few years back - we have an annual swimming competition in the nearby pool - and we just keep going there. During the time Dutch people like to dine it's pretty quietby Lise - A Novel Idea
Chapter Fifteen Frederick seemed to like having them nearby, because he accompanied them to breakfast like a puppy, telling them what he usually ate. Isabelle had planned to eat breakfast and then go to the Headmaster to continue discussing what job she might be able to do, because the day before the discussion had been cut short. Philip had mixed feelings about it. He had been taught to finby Lise - A Novel Idea
Chapter Thirty-Nine “Anna Margaret? Could you come over?” Isabelle called. Anna Margaret had just installed her laptop so she could read a few things, but that was not the only reason why she was reluctant to be involved. “I only know about dysfunctional families,” she answered. She would rather stay out of other people’s family business, because she had nothing sensible to add. “I need to asby Lise - A Novel Idea
Ha, and then it wouldn't work.... Next part is nearly done.by Lise - A Novel Idea
Horror or anything supernatural or that isn't real isn't my thing either, on the contrary, and I've been in this a few times.... Luckily Katharina has only been to my previous house and not to my current one, so she can't come after me if I don't meet all requirements :-pby Lise - Tea Room
I think. I have two things going on over at Novel Idea, but there's always room for a little extra. I'm kind of underemployed anyway. Just to decide who loses that memory....by Lise - Tea Room
After the plot bunnies literally attacked me in my sleep. After I was nudged awake because I was calling for help, I spent some time wondering just why I had been dreaming about being overrun by bunnies -- I felt them hop over me -- which I guess covers the amnesia part, because I lost that bit of the dream.by Lise - Tea Room
Chapter Fourteen Philip decided to take Frederick out for a walk. There was no need for Isabelle to hear their conversation. Very likely it would not be exactly what she would say anyway and it was always easier to talk to a boy about these things than to a girl. As he took the path to the lake he wondered briefly if he should stay close to the school in case anything happened, but nobody wouldby Lise - A Novel Idea
I hope there are things you still don't know.... :-Dby Lise - A Novel Idea
Chapter Thirty-Eight Anna Margaret was tired of it all. In three weeks Irene would not even be five months pregnant yet, yet it would already be impossible to sit through an informal Christmas dinner where everyone would be allowed to leave the table at any point. Even not bringing a dish would be negotiable, so that did not have to be a reason. “I’m sure she’d magically be capable if I hostedby Lise - A Novel Idea
Chapter Thirteen Isabelle seemed cool, but she spilled her tea when Philip gave it to her. He cleaned the table with a cloth. “Are you all right?” he asked. She was not the clumsy type. Her hands ought to be steady. “Yes.” “Sure?” “No.” He sat beside her and wondered what to do. He thought she was a little affected by the incident, more than she let on, but how did he find out and what coulby Lise - A Novel Idea
Chapter Thirty-Seven Anna Margaret felt it was some sort of duty to greet her sister before she talked to anyone else in the room and to inquire how she was doing. She carried her glass over to the couch and sat down, leaving a place for Frederick. “Hi Irene, how are you?” Irene was not sitting very elegantly. “Fine, considering.” She could not remember how far Irene was, but her pregnancy prby Lise - A Novel Idea
Chapter Twelve Philip had not paid any more attention to the young man outside. He had continued working. Johnny had kept looking at the car, however, and had eventually gone outside for a closer look. He stayed away rather long. When Philip looked outside to see what was happening, the Headmaster was talking to the chap, but whatever the Headmaster said did not seem to go down well. Johnnyby Lise - A Novel Idea
Chapter Thirty-Six Isabelle had been checked out and although there was no record of how she had been before, she had been considered fine. She had paid for the consultation in cash, not wanting to register at the practice. After this she had walked with Anna Margaret back to the office. “I may now have to find someone to break the news,” she said. Anna Margaret wondered why one visit had madby Lise - A Novel Idea
Here I was wondering if anyone at all was going to think it was him! And then everyone who replies, does. Now if the other 3 readers think it too, I'm too obvious :-pby Lise - A Novel Idea
Chapter Eleven The advantage of waking late was that the bathroom was free. Nearly everyone had also finished breakfast as well. Only Frederick was holding a halting conversation with Philip’s father. “Morning,” said Philip. He had nicely waited until Isabelle had finished washing and dressing, and he had no idea how long that had taken. “I hope there’s something left for you to eat.” “Enouby Lise - A Novel Idea
Chapter Thirty-Five Anna Margaret had passed the time of her appointment on to Isabelle. It was now up to her to find a way to get there unnoticed. Isabelle did not seem to think so, however, because an hour before the appointment she presented herself in Anna Margaret’s office. “Er…” said the latter, taken aback because she had not expected the visit. “They’re not making house calls, you knowby Lise - A Novel Idea
Whew. I was at a point where I was thinking: "What do they see in each other and how on earth can I get them to move on to 2015?" (Because the other story is unfortunately still stuck in 2015 ;-))by Lise - A Novel Idea
As for what they did exactly, I'm not sure. I couldn't decide. I wanted to keep that ambiguous in case I realise later what the best thing would be. At this point you can decide they did what you would like they did. And the last bit: Isabelle is a bit of an impulsive airhead at this point. So the moment she thinks "let's not act on my impulses/feelings for a change", Philip surprises her by notby Lise - A Novel Idea
Does it make sense? I wonder, after rereading my reply.by Lise - A Novel Idea
She was determined to think first, but then he started to be less rational, so she began to doubt.by Lise - A Novel Idea
Chapter Ten Dinner was not awkward. Isabelle did not mind speaking to his parents and she did so with ease. She had turned the tables and she was now the one asking the questions. Other young guests rarely kept an elaborate conversation going. Philip wondered if it was her age or her upbringing. She might have been trained to converse with anyone. Then it's not my phone. (Which had trouble uploading photos to Facebook as well. I'd always have to try that at least 4 times before it worked, unless suddenly last week it happens in one go.)by Lise - Tea Room
I'm never logged in on my mobile devices, so I don't have that. But yeah, it's a tiny line... I wonder why I need to tap it twice. The first time it simply reloads in the mobile view and the second time it comes up in the normal view.by Lise - Tea Room
Chapter Thirty-Four Frederick had wondered for about two seconds if he wanted to come shopping after Isabelle said she would come, but then he had declined the invitation. On Sunday morning it was therefore only Anna Margaret and Isabelle who took their places in the car. They had chosen to be driven, not knowing how tired they might be afterwards. “What do you need?” Isabelle asked. “Shirts,by Lise - A Novel Idea
Chapter Nine “I’d like to use the toilet, if I may,” said Isabelle. “Of course. It’s in the hall.” Philip went to look for his mother in the meantime, so he could ask her some questions in private that he would not ask in Isabelle’s presence. He found her in the pantry. “What did her mother say?” “I knew you’d want to know. Her mother sounded very sweet, I think. She already knew Isabelle wasby Lise - A Novel Idea
I'm swimming 6500m in a canal today. And we were in the same canal but a different town yesterday, so yesterday I definitely didn't get anything done. Maybe today if we get home in the afternoon.by Lise - A Novel Idea
I consulted https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunday_shopping because I wasn't sure. Larger Dutch towns first had shops in the town centre open once a month and this town, at least, now has them open from 12-5 every Sunday, but only in the town centre, not the local shopping streets. It's only been that way for a year or two, I think. Certainly not five. The surrounding countries are less progressivby Lise - A Novel Idea
