Yes, thanks, I am satisfied. I'll just imagine a younger, and slightly less scatter-brained, Charles Ruggles.by Harvey - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I was afraid I would miss Henry in a negligee - which I felt sure would be too far out of character for these people - but the jester's costume more than makes up for it.by Harvey - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I hope more people are reading than commenting, as if not, they're missing a lot of fun. Please keep posting. I have found stories from long ago in the archives that I missed when they came out, and quite enjoy, and I think this will be one of those for many future readers.by Harvey - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Very nice. Clever transformation of the characters which keeps to the story, but makes them more Austenesque.by Harvey - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
That's good. And there better be a Colonel Applegate, or substitute.by Harvey - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
No visual of Henry covered with feathers?by Harvey - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I like this version. I envision a Miss Morlund who is a little less frenetic, but just as insane, as the Katherine Hepburn character.by Harvey - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
My guess is more people are reading than are commenting, but that's just a guess. I've seen stories that go on a while and then start getting comments, and I'm certainly guilty of that. However, this site seems to run hot and cold lately. When I first joined many years ago, it was one of the more active sites. I joined to try to find things for my wife to read which would make her happy, as her moby Harvey - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
How many Baby entries are expected? This is fun.by Harvey - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
They are given at various Austen fanfic websites. The logins control what searches will return - that is, sites like DWG (if it had such a login) would only let you find general audience stories. If passwords get shared online, the JAFF index may get shut down until they implement some sort of access controls specifically for JAFF, which could take a long time. I'm not sure which fanfic sites 'sby Harvey - Tea Room
Fun. And one of my favorite movies.by Harvey - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Lucrezia has some stories like this. The one here, The Second Sister (which is excellent) is somewhat along these lines. Others are for more mature audiences, so they are at other sites. It appears the author's main website is gone, so I suspect she has stopped writing, and perhaps even passed away. Another is The Strange Disappearance of Elizabeth Bennet (at least that's the best recollection I hby Harvey - Tea Room
Isn't this a Tea Room topic? Searching JAFF and displaying topics is the best way I know to do this.by Harvey - Tea Room
It's a hoot!by Harvey - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
That was my guess, but Rox said it wasn't the one she was thinking of. However, maybe she'll read this to get over her disappointment, since you've provided a link.by Harvey - Tea Room
Isn't The Houseguest the one where Georgiana comes to Netherfield, meets Elizabeth, and then invites her back to Town for Christmas? Or am I thinking of the wrong story? If so, I don't recall Elizabeth being injured. Maybe I need to reread it.by Harvey - Tea Room
I'm sorry to say that's the only one I recall at the moment.by Harvey - Tea Room
Is this around Christmas? Where Elizabeth is a governess?by Harvey - Tea Room
It's also available at A Happy Assembly. You can find it with the Jane Austen Fanfic search. https://www.jaffindex.com/ You need to get an account, which is free, and I got my via AHA (which is also free, if you don't have an account there). I accounts at several of the sites, but DWG and AHA are the ones I visit regularly.by Harvey - Tea Room
Thanks. I recalled the story but not the title, and it was an itch I couldn't scratch. Now I can read it again, too.by Harvey - Tea Room
It's great to see this again. Please keep the chapters coming.by Harvey - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I've been a fan of her work since I stumbled across 'The Second Sister'. She seems to have stopped writing suddenly, in the middle of 'Hell Gate', and I fear something happened to her, but I've never heard one way or another. Stealing anyone's stories is despicable, but somehow taking hers - which she always shared so generously - makes me even angrier.by Harvey - Tea Room
Thanks. I like that story a lot. Very nice of you. I got Kindle Unlimited this summer, and also bought several JAFF stories at Amazon, but I've realized that all of my favorites are still ones like yours, which I read here or other fan sites like Meryton.by Harvey - Tea Room
It was Elizabeth's own web site, which I cannot find anymore. The only other thing I've seen is this, which has some scenes I didn't recognize from either of the other versions: https://archiveofourown.org/works/133981?view_full_work=true I felt it is okay to post the link because the story is rated G.by Harvey - Tea Room
Thanks. That's what I've observed, but I was hoping for more news. Still, appreciate hearing what you know.by Harvey - Tea Room
Anyone have any idea if this story will ever get finished? Her writing was always good, but I felt the mysteries got better and better with the subsequent books, and I was completely hooked on the last one. I have made up some explanations for a few of the 'mystery scenes' - the cut scenes where people don't have names, and it's not clear until much later in the story what is going on - but for moby Harvey - Tea Room
There were two versions of the story, one which went further than the other (though in a rather different direction), but neither was complete. I downloaded both, merged them, and added enough to it to make something I felt was about 90% finished, and which I could see the end of, because I liked the story so much I wanted to see how it turned out. I think doing this for yourself might be the onlyby Harvey - Tea Room
Was that because the story was copied, or because other people were copying darcyfriend's stories?by Harvey - Tea Room
